Why can't transfer windows be this simple?
  4. A dose of reality and lowered expectations Ma'am.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Yep. It's going to feel like we've undersold and overpaid, all thanks to Isak throwing a strop. Although I really hope we stick to our guns and valuation on Isak, a better outcome would be keep Isak and buy Larsen as competition.

Aye that's a fairly good description.

Hmmm. Could see a world where we sign both and flog Isak just to be done with it.
  8. Think he's better than he appears, maybe could be described as a Chris Wood upgrade.
  9. Depends how personally the Saudis are going to take it. Quite personally by the look of it.

Wissa is a bit more exciting for me, but Larsen would be a good Wilson replacement, although we are buying at the top of the market. Feels like needs must rather than someone we were genuinely going for.

    Jacob Ramsey

Same here, and whisper it quietly, would probably be taking Joelinton's role. Not every game obviously, but think he'd cement the lion's share of that left side midfield slot.
  12. Liverpool can afford it on the back of decades of success. We are a long way from being able to match them across a whole squad, I was suggesting we could stretch to a couple of players maybe. Although tbf, I think the club position is that we know we have to sell players at our current level, but on our own terms, which I agree with.

That's the frustrating thing, we are literally one signing away from having a very good CL squad.
  14. We wouldn't need to as he'd already be earning as much as he could elsewhere ideally. Obviously there is a point where we can't pay the same as the cartel clubs because they have far more income to allocate to wages, but I think we have maybe two at that level at the moment, so we could probably accomodate them.
  15. But why would they pay Ekitike £250m a week when they don't need to? Are you telling me he'd have refused to go if they offered him £180k/week?
  16. This could also be a potential problem for us. They will sign another striker IMO, might well step on our toes again.

I think we'll keep Isak and overpay to get Jackson in. And I would be happy with that tbh.

We are chasing high value players who are tried and tested, this is understandable in our position where we feel only players of a certain quality will improve us. But right now we only have one striker (who is ironically on strike) so we need to bring in a replacement for Wilson. I am sure we will do eventually, but not so sure Wissa will be the one.

Brentford are definitely trying to create an auction, but tbf they probably don't want to sell him. We can't afford to wait until deadline day to sign a striker, if we feel we are being pissed about then sign a different one.
  20. I'd be astonished if Ekitike is being paid 250k a week. Sounds like bullshit tbh.
  21. I said this a few times when it's been brought up that if Isak is given a massive pay rise then every player will be demanding one. On what basis? Isak is a genuinely world class talent who is attracting superclub attention. We might love Dan Burn but Barcelona or Man City aren't going to be offering him £150k/week any time soon. Tonali is the only other player on our books comparable to Isak, but other than those two, I really don't see any other club offering bank busting wages to any of our players. We should be able to accomodate one superstar player based on his value.

He might even prefer Spurs if they become an option.
