I think players do like to be involved in Europe though, at any level. Trips abroad just make the season a bit more exciting.

Not being able to get a result at Old Trafford was always threatening to cost us. We didn't need to win, just needed to not get beat. Can't really complain really.

It goes without saying PSR is probably holding us back by a few years in development because we have to make do and mend until our spend limit is increased. We'd be regular CL certs already without the financial constraints.

Strange appointment, but I have a soft spot for him, he comes across well, so hope he does well for them.

Finishing isn't everything. Good movement, finding the spaces, aerial power are other factors which contribute to goals. DCL can be a handful, he'd be a decent second striker for most teams. I'd rather have Alverez for sure, but I don't think we are quite there yet.

I think that's how we might be looking at it, if this rumour does have truth to it. Plus Wilson is 32 and DCL is 27, so financially not as dumb as might first appear. It means we would still go into next season with two proven strikers on our books, and while he's not Isak, he could still do a job as the alternate to give Isak some rest between games.

He never looks very clinical when I've watched them, but he does have good movement instincts, always seems to be attacking the spaces as Lineker would say.

He does have some excuse about the injuries, although I never really followed their games closely, didn't they struggle with a lot of injuries to key defender?

Well that's £25m we're never getting back. I'm trying to work out why Howe seems to be so keen on this other than he's PL proven and English. He is a proper CF so I suppose he would compliment Isak well who is more a technical player whereas DCL is the old fashioned up and at 'em type. If it was less money I'd be more keen on it, but I'm still wary of his fitness record.

His finishing has looked good that's the thing. Still not sure he's the real deal, but the way he's been putting them away hasn't looked like a fluke. Those finishes have been precision.

Yep, that was around the time his form dipped, although the injury won't have helped.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of Lewin, even with a year left on his contract they would still probably ask more than he's worth.
