This is how we should be viewing alternatives tbh. We can be sniffy about youtube scouting, but some of those mentioned have gone to PL clubs, one of them to Aston Villa. Might be a gamble, but probably a better option than Anthony Gordon up front.
-
Well Kalimeundo and Guessand were on the table a month ago, but gone now.
-
We should have already looked somewhere else, that's the issue. We need a replacement for Wilson, regardless of what happens with Isak. even if Isak stays we still have only one striker. Not sure what's going on, but the club appear to be getting led down the garden path again.

I thought similar of Goncalo Ramos tbh. He can probably finish well, but he didn't look particularly electric from the highlights video from last season. Yeah i"m so desperate for us to find a striker I've started watching highlights of players who probably have no chance of coming here.

It could be argued that you are also putting a negative spin on it though. While it's true that if Elanga had squared it to Gordon he probably would have scored, it still would have required accuracy to bypass the defender closing in, and tbh, most people watching would have expected Elanga to take the shot, it was a great chance. He was pretty much clean through, you can't really blame him for going for goal.

We can't blame Brentford for asking whatever they want for a striker under contract. We need to get it done or move onto another option while there's still strikers who are available.
-
Only go for Larsen if he's good enough. If not then we need someone who is. We aren't here to win the fair play league otherwise we could do that and get relegated. The only reason we should not sign Wissa is because he either costs too much, or Brentford won't let him go. Not because he's throwing a strop, because in this day and age that tactic seems to be par for the course when you want a move.

Nope. It's called being a partisan fan. Count me in also.
-
Well like I said it's a fan site what would you expect fans to do other than give opinions. Sometimes ill-informed, sometimes maybe on the money. Just like fans might sing "there's only one greedy bastard" but it would be a bit off if Eddie Howe or Tindall joined in.
-
Are you really expecting highly paid expert opinions on a fan site?
-
Not without a striker it won't.
-
Tbf, I think that was always the club's stance as well. I just worry that they have gone all in on a player who might not be available unless we pay stupid money.
-
Both players I liked the look of but I can see why Howe would have preferred the sure thing of Wissa. Provided we could actually bloody sign him.
-
You're not mistaken. His curler technique works quite well cutting in from the left, but don't think he's got exceptional shooting power otherwise. I'm sure he could hit it well enough from 12 yards though, but strikers need to have that poacher's instinct as well. Don't think he has that, and not surprising since he's not a striker, no matter what he might wish.
-
Would be the dumbest move ever, but thankfully I doubt the board would sanction it even if Howe wanted the move.
-
I'd take him over Gordon up front, that's for fucking sure.
-
Yeah good idea. Might be a bit late in the window for that though....
-
Delap and Pedro not having a great game will probably push the fee for Jackson up to £80m as well now. Not that I particularly wanted Jackson, but it beats having Anthony Gordon up front which is what we are currently going with.
-
That's the thing, relegation is almost guaranteed if they lose Wissa. Why the hell would they let him go unless they get an offer they can't refuse. I am worried we have invested everything into this deal above all others when there is no guarantee we will be able to get it done.
-
Yeah, that will really show Liverpool they can't mess with the Geordies.
-
More chance of gazumping ourselves by paying more than we intended for Wissa the way things are going. This is the problem when you leave things later and later, other options start to dwindle and you then have less to choose from.
