  1. Especially when they're s***. f*** me, is everyone going to say we should keep Alan Smith too after one good performance? Yes, I KNOW there are no signs of anyone coming in, but the facts are: 1. These players are too expensive. 2. These players are rubbish. They're fair points but who's DD's back up? Lua Lua? A kid with only a few first team games for Doncaster. The more Fat t*** "balances the books" the further down the league we'll slide. As things stand (no manager, no owner, no direction) we're not going to do anything anyway. We might as well get rid of the tossers bleeding the club dry for no return. ok, and in the long term i couldn't agree more. But do you not think that Duff will do a decent job (and far better than anyone else) on the wing this season? It wouldn't surprise me if Duff disappears for most of the season after a half decent start. He's done it before plenty of times. I don't remember him starting well once He starts well in pre-season games usually, scoring hat-tricks at will. Then shitting his pants when the serious stuff starts.

  3. Yes the closer we can leave any signings to the end of the deadline, the more our chances increase of missing out on signing any altogether....the usual Llambiarse/Ashley modus operandi
  4. If we were in the Premier I'd be taking their hands off but with Llambiarse's track record of signing players we can't give our approval to this. Unless players are going to come in Duff has to stay.

    Shola Ameobi

There's no way on God's earth Ameobi will leave. He wouldn't even go as far as Ipswich, never mind leave the country. Bollocks I reckon.
  6. He is a quality Championship player. If we are to buy someone though, which I doubt we will, shouldn't we buy players that may be able to step up to the PRem at some point instead of a 29 year old average Championshit Striker. Not when we need to get the wage bill down. Premiership quality equals at least 50k a week The only thing that stopped Tommy Smith becoming a great player rather than a good one is a lack of pace. He is a really good footballer but lacks pace. Should fit right in here then.
  7. Bit of an iindictment on the terrible shape Nolan is in that we are even considering him if it's true.

    RIP sale thread.

I have. me too as we will never be sold. Agree. No one is going to buy the club off Mike Ashley. He may as well take it off the market now and put into action Operation Miracle*. *With two weeks of the transfer window to go: - Get a manager Sell players on big wages Replace them with cheaper players Win promotion to Premier League Ashley won't officially take the club off the market just yet, as that will mean he'll have to appoint a manager and risk being asked for players. He'll string along this idea that there are interested parties for a couple more weeks I reckon.
  9. The ITK's are agreed that he played well. The ITK's probably know more about our players than we do tbf.
  10. When I looked at his record I just saw a guy who was living on the work of others gone before him. Is there any evidence that he has actually built a club from the bottom or even understands what it takes to run a club at this level without money?
  11. Well, Krul has been linked with a transfer away from the club, and there's plenty of those happening this close season.
  12. Aye because the opposition was top notch like No it wasn't but a 5-1 win doesn't suggest a pushover. If it happens I suppose you'll be right.

    RIP sale thread.

I wonder if Llambiarse will put in a late bid for Darren Bent on the last day of the transfer deadline?
  14. James milner's crosses weren't much use at Newcastle. There again he was aiming at the heads of twin midgets Obafemi Martins and Michael Owen. Who were both playing deeper roles to make up for the lack of mobility in midfield....which would have been ok if Joey barton wasn't... ...fuck it, never mind.
  15. I wouldn't want him anywhere near the club but I did hear the interview and he sounded genuinely gutted...was really bigging up the club and everything about it. Makes a change from sour faced bastards like Mark Lawrenson always looking to stick the knife in.
  16. I think I'll go with the general view of Villa fans which is that he is a useless unlikeable tosser. Especially since it's a view I've held of him from the early days at Leeds.
  17. I think we will go up if we sign a decent striker but we aren't going to get one of the calibre we need on loan, so I think this will be Ashley's major f*** up this season and it will cost him millions. I'm not convinced that many, if any, loan signings will really give you the quality you need irrespective of the position. I don't know who Newcastle have got coming through the Academy and reserves (other than those I've seen in international matches), but there seem to be a few with good potential. But will signing loan players be any better than throwing your youngsters in at the deep end? I'm not convinced. It's been reported that Newcastle might want to make a couple of loan signings from Spurs. Bostock, Rose and Parrett could be contenders, but Bostock apart, they are still pretty raw, I don't think they would necessarily do much for the squad other than beef up the numbers. More experienced players, like Chimbonda for example, we're looking to sell, not loan. I just get the feeling that Ashley has left the 'loan players option' too long and the better ones have already found a temporary home. As I don't believe for one second that we will be signing any new striker, on loan or otherwise, I think the only chance we have of scoring enough goals to stay in the promotion race is if Nile Ranger gets games and makes an immediate impact. There is also Xisco who is an unknown quantity assuming he gets considered, but if we are expecting Carroll and Ameobi to score us the goals I'm pretty sure we will fail.

    RIP sale thread.

He's waiting for the transfer deadline to pass. Give it another couple of weeks.
  19. I would go along with all of that. Which is why I believe all the whooping and celebrations at getting good money for the likes of Oba, Bassong and Beye are misguided. "Oba's got the touch of a rapist! £9-fucking-million!! Woohoo!" Yeah well enjoy watching Shola this season.
  20. Reading won 5-1 in the Carling Cup yesterday. Maybe not the pushover some might be expecting.
  21. Did Bournmouth lift their imposed transfer embargo? They were listed as no signings before Saturday Not sure. I'm just repeating what I've read in the paper and heard on tv about us being the only club not to have made any signings.
  22. I think we will go up if we sign a decent striker but we aren't going to get one of the calibre we need on loan, so I think this will be Ashley's major fuck up this season and it will cost him millions.
  23. I'm still to be convinced that O'Bleary will either get offered the job or take it, after all Ashley's first choice was Kinnear who has ruled it out until he's recovered from his illness. With Ashley there's no limit to how low he will scrape the barrel so don't rule out more disastrous decisions.
