    RIP sale thread.

Why? is Mike ashley going to offer half price tickets on the day?
  2. If Krul starts the next few games he's not likely to be tempted anywhere else so it's worth playing him for that reason alone. No one will try and sign Steve Harper so it's a safe option.
  3. I think Nicky Butt's still in a huff because he was told to drive to Manchester on his own to get his injury seen to. It's the only thing this bastard regime has got right.
  4. I wonder how O'Bleary will feel about being second choice to Joe Kinnear? He must be desperate...

    Jonas Gutierrez

Hang on...Owen has the ability to score and Jonas the ability to assist when alongside other good players. Why weren't the feckers linking up last season then? Who were the other two midfielders?
  6. They should probably have got checked out for rabies at the hospital just to be on the safe side. The dogs I mean...

    Jonas Gutierrez

Pretty good post that. While I agree with the criticism that his crossing is very poor, one of the reasons we dominated posession against West Brom was Jonas' involvement. In the first half everything went through him and Enrique and Duff was virtually a spectator on the other wing. If Jonas had hid in that half I think we'd have struggled to control the game. In any case do we really have any alternatives?
  8. It's a sad indictment when the vicious smelly animals being referred to are Sunderland fans rather than the dogs.

We have no system at all. Just Hughton, he has to make the tea, cook the food, manage the team, change Barton's nappy, release press statements, develop the website, run payroll, do the accounts and clean up. don't forget change the bog roll.

I seriously doubt Taylor will be going anywhere and I have a feeling Smith might stay, not sure about Jonas. Hopefully we can sell Coloccini and I'd be delighted to see Butt leave the club, also it has to be a priority to remove Geremi from the wage bill. We would then be in a position to more then cover the loss in revenue from being relegated (£25-£30m drop in wages plus 25m-30m in transfer fee's) Thing is them wanting to stay and being able to stay is the problem, if Everton do sell Lesscott hen I reckon Moyes will bid for Taylor, if we get a half decent bid for Smith Ashley will take it. Jonas, Colo and Jose will all jump at the chance to leave if one comes up, all this will happen if Ashley keeps the club he gets money in and lowers the wage bill, ideal for him. If he keeps the club his only aim will to go back up, that's the only way he can get his money back. If we're still in the Championship next year we'll be worth even less then we are now. He's not going to spend big money obviously but I don't believe he'll sell anyone we get a decent offer for either. We were going to get into the top 6 by sticking with Kinnear, selling Given & N'Zogbia and bringing in Nolan & Taylor Aye. The bloke is completely delusional. I wonder if anyone is telling him this kind of thing or whether he's just surrounded himself with yes men. No doubt what Kinnear was telling him. I can't see O'bleary telling him he can sell everyone and still get promotion. He might be a crappyish manager but he's not insane. He'll fail the interview then wont he. I can only assume O'Bleary has agreed to the job under any condition (being a desperate useless t***) otherwise Curbishley would be a much better choice. Curbishley won't come here as things stand. I know that for a fact. Ashley wouldn't ask him anyway. This whole putting the club up for sale seems to have been a way to get Shearer with his big demands out of the way. If Ashley gets his price it's a bonus otherwise he's probably happy to keep bleeding the club as an alternative.

  12. I'll be amazed if the crowd is much more than 30,000 if that's the price of a ticket on the day. Are there no cheaper ones?
  13. If we get rid of Coloccini will we replace him? At the moment we are the only club in the entire football league to have not made one single signing so I wouldn't be too confident of it. We need all our central defenders at the moment unless Ashley fucks off.

Or it could be that Moat doesn't have £25m to put down immediately and Ashley is using that figure to tell him to f*** off basically. Yes but in this article they claim that he hs already proven that he has the funds, the question is will he spind it? I think the only question is will anyone give Ashley the price he is looking for? I doubt it and all this has just been a waste of time if that's the case. it already seems quite obvious he wont get the 100mill originally quoted so it could well be just haggling to find a price both parties can agree on. If the sale goes through then that will prove to be true. If it doesn't you'd have to question why Ashley put the club on the market in the first place rather than just get on with running the club in a fit and proper manner. because he put a price on it he thought he could get. as times moved on he's had to adjust it. naturally when you are selling something there'll be a price below which you wont go. if that about giving money to lawyers is true it does seem like a put up or shut up and could be the beginning of the end of this whole sorry mess. But no one asked him to put the club up for sale in the first place. Even Freddie Shepherd didn't advertise the club or stop running it properly in the hope of selling it and he's considered thick by most here. i thought plenty asked him to put the place up for sale. while he's been running it its been losing money. seems like he's hit a point where he's just said enough is enough. outside of not appointing a manager he's stil been running things thats meant his hand in his pocket. I thought no-one had since he said "2009 will be the year in which we drive the Club forward together" and "I gave you my word that as long as I remain owner, this Club would continue to be run responsibly at all levels." Has he fuck been running things, things have been left to run themselves (down). No-one's receiving any kind of direction from the top. Plus at this time of year the club will have already received a large part of it's annual income (last year's TV revenue and this year's season tickets), so money is only coming out of his pocket now if he's used that to reduce the loan to himself rather than the overdraft and was intending to sell the club without that income in the accounts. I don't think we'll be sold this year myself, but if we are, it's already a black mark in the books of the new owners from me for being part of the fiasco that's allowed it to drag on so long and all but kill any chance we had of going back up next year by preparing properly for this season. If it does turn out that there have been any serious bidders they should have put a deadline on Ashley selling them the club of at least a month ago. Exactly. That's my point, if he now takes the club off the market because no one will give him a price which they never agreed to in the first place, it means he's been running the club down for the second season in a row - for no reason whatsoever. The only hope has to be his threat to keep the club is another one of his customary lies.

I doubt a blind monkey could do much worse than Ashley has. Whatever happens if Moat takes over I'm sure no-one will look back and think "I wish we still had Mike Ashley." I agree. While it's naive to think any new owner is going to be a sugar daddy, at least Moat is a genuine supporter. The question mark would be against those behind him. I doubt any new owner would do what Ashley has done this summer though. String everyone along then threaten to keep the club when it's too late to put things right. In May no one was demanding he sell the club after all.

Why don't you just fuck off with your specially created nick? That would be the best solution to a lessening of bullshit.
  21. i wonder if he'd have cited his contract had he been s*** and we wanted to sack him because of it. my hatred for many footballers is building. "i want everything in my favour and i don't give a f*** what s*** it causes for others" seem very much the attitude. If it's good enough for Owen why not lesser mortals? doesn't matter who it is, it's twattish. when did owen say he wanted to leave or agitated for a move when under contract ? Didn't Sven Goran quote him in a Sunday paper? Was Owen being paid 5k a week? Has he taken a pay cut to play for someone else? Did Bassong send a brochure to other clubs while still under contract to Newcastle Utd? Lots of interesting comparisons if you want to draw them. owens brochure was in the last 6 months of his contract when he can do stuff like that. don't really see what the other things have to do with it. has he been rubbish would he have said "fair do's i've been cack, rip up my contract it's what i deserve" Well he was rubbish and I didn't see him offer to rip up his contract which was worth quite a lot IIRC. thats the point. if the contract is good enough to stand when they are s***, they should respect it to cut the other way. That only happens with players on the way down though. Not players on the way up. it can happen as much with supposed players on the way up if they don't progress. do you think they think half way through their contracts "i'm not good enough...i'll leave to find my true level and take a pay cut along with it" or do you think to get at least some of the wage we give them a free or subsidise their wgae at the new club. Well, six months ago I suppose Darren Bent would have preferred to sign for Newcastle rather than Sunderland. Everything's subjective.
  22. If he's nothing more than a pundit then why are we discussing him as a potential manager? I meant right now, I wasn't discussing his abilities. He's got absolutely no connection to the club and certainly won't have until Ashley fucks off, which is looking increasingly unlikely. Therefore he might as well speak his mind - that's what he's being paid for. Can't argue with that mate. 100% spot on.

bizzarly would be an improvement on the present situation. You would think so wouldn't you? yet all those Villa fans hate him with a vengeance. i'd contemplate souness instead of kinnear or hughton. I'd contemplate Alan Shearer or Curbishley first. Failing that, if I was a useless fat t*** like Ashley I'd contemplate it's time to clear off and give someone with a bit more football knowledge a go. without trying to recoup asmuch as possible ? He's not going to recoup much by staying in this division. If he stays in charge that is what we will do. true...he may think we have enough to be in a good position by january or whatever. he'll do what he considers is financilly best for him and nothing else. It's this type of thinking which has led him to massive financial losses to this point. As a clueless fat prick I wouldn't expect otherwise from someone with no football knowledge.
