I think if he goes it's because he's going to turn 34 soon and because of FFP/PSR we can't afford to keep holding onto depreciating assets. Nothing to do with his ability, he's still a fantastic player.
-
This is short term thinking. Also doesn't take into account who we could bring in in the last week of this window which could really give us a massive boost for the second half of the season if we can get some players in which we need right now. Even with Trippier as good as he is, we are sitting 9th below clubs who sold and moved on last season. I'm pretty sure the club know this, and if we end up hanging onto more and more players who lose value year on year I'd be seriously questioning if they know what they are doing.

Trippier will be 34 this year. If we can afford to write off the fee we can get now then great, otherwise it is going to be detrimental to our future if the FFP stuff is right and we have to sell before we buy.
-
Depends how much that undisclosed fee is I suppose.
-
He was big and hard though, that's how Kenny liked them. Except he wasn't really that hard.
-
My view is that if we don't want to write the season off we need to bring in at least one midfielder, and the only way we can do that is to sell. Whether that's Trips or Miggy. Or both.
-
By the summer we would have the funds to buy another RB prospect if we feel we have to.
-
Looks like we do have some friends in the PL after all.
-
I guess the Morgan Gibbs White interest will have ended then. Unless Joelinton really is on his way out.
-
I don't. I'd be surprised if Bayern are prepared to go any higher than what they've already bid. I hope it does happen though, he's still a fantastic footballer, but we need the money to spend on other positions.
-
What was noticeable before he was banned, was that Bruno and Tonali didn't seem naturally inclined to drop back when we had players surging forward, we quite often got caught at the back as a result. If anything, Jonjo seemed better suited to protecting the back four because he was too slow/lazy to advance far up the pitch in the first place.
-
I doubt it will be a problem, just add a couple of zeros to his wage packet in Saudi. He'll still turn out to be better value than fuckwits like Henderson.
-
Probably just sacking off the rest of the season in favour of long term improvement.
-
I wouldn't normally give any talk of MGW the time of day, but because the genuine () interest from Saudi to spend £30m on Miggy might actually lead to a sale, who knows? I actually think he would do really well over there so it's win-win all round.
-
If he was worth £30m then surely someone outside of SA would have offered us £26m at least. He's verging on 30 years old by the way, you might want to factor that in.
-
It's far more right than for a 33 year old right back who we've already bought a replacement for.
-
He's still a fantastic player so let's just enjoy his contribution while he's here. I'd have sold him for anything over £12m just because of his age and depreciating value but if no one wants him then let's at least enjoy what he brings to the table over the next couple of years.
-
Who gives a fuck?
-
Miggy's figures over the last two seasons have actually been pretty decent so it's not outrageous to think he might fetch £25m. Not from any serious European club but a non-affiliated Saudi club, why not?
-
I'm sceptical of all links at the moment because while I think we are open to selling certain players for the right price, I' m not convinced either the buying clubs or the players we are selling are at that stage yet.
-
Joelinton's replacement was with us all along.
-
People on here really live in cloud cuckoo land, having wet dreams of landing £20m for a 33 year old full back. I don't actually think Bayern are serious about him anyway, they are using this alleged bid to try and put pressure on PSG to release their 26 year old full back, his name escapes me now.
