  1. Absolutely fuck all coming down the right.
  2. Isak produced more quality out wide in 5 mins than Anderson did in half an hour. Miggy's best work has been centrally as well, he's not providing much from wide.
  3. Some lovely footwork in this game by Isak, but it's all too deep.
  4. Keeper was well beat if Miggy had gone a touch less wide with that effort.
  5. I think we are interchanging quite nicely in the middle areas of the pitch, just there's nothing apart from Isak up front. He's basically being left to take up the whole defence himself.
  6. Lovely work from Isak to break free there, no one anywhere near him to offer support until the space was gone.
  7. Not sure the first one really warranted a yellow, would be harsh to be sent off for those two tackles. But he really does need to be aware that he's not quick enough to lunge in for every tackle, it happens every game.
  8. Bruno now a liability for the rest of this game.
  9. We do have Barnes as well for that position.

Pretty much sums up where this thread has gone. You really aren't that funny.

Not sure if this is a wind up but if it is it's top stuff.

I'm not really interested in talk about hatred for women or misogyny tbh, I'm not sure what that's got to do with this. I don't watch women's football, but I support it 100%. I'm sure lots of people really enjoy it and fair play to them. I watch women's tennis same as I watch men's tournaments, this is just a personal preference. But when it comes to listening to football opinions I prefer to listen to people who can offer some insight rather than buffoons regardless of the sex.

I don't really get that argument tbh. Pundits are there to make coherent points and offer insight into the game. An intelligent ex-pro who is female will always be more capable of doing that than some pisshead gobshite who happens to be male.
  14. Yeah, not sure about that either. Big Joe's tended to look more of a goal threat when he's playing left midfield than when he's up front. I'll still take him any day over Murphy though, God forbid.

I said the same thing in my first post on here. I don't like listening to women commentators, the ones I've heard don't tend to convey the atmosphere of the game that well. I don't know if it's tone or what, but it doesn't work for me. But when it comes to punditry, there's been some very good ones, at least compared to some of the male doylems we've had to hear talking absolute shit down the years.

That went through my mind too.

Was thinking about this today when they were discussing him on one of the youtube channels, but one of the reasons we get results like Wednesday is because we have leaders like Jamal and Tripps. In big games those are the guys who step up. PSG certainly didn't have them, no wonder they keep underachieving.

I haven't watched much comedy in modern times but even decades ago you had Jennifer Saunders, Joan Rivers, Roseanne Barr and such. Now you have Fleabag and probably loads more, I'm not really up to date, but it's a bizarre statement. It doesn't even belong 50 years ago.

It does feel sometimes that we are getting a cluster of women put in there to make up the numbers, and sometimes it's because they look a bit tasty rather than any insight they bring. There's a balance that needs to be struck, but as long as it's about the football and there's genuine passion for the game then great.

He actually had a pretty great rep while he was playing under Benitez who signed him. We had a rock solid defence back then although it was a back five not a back four. His reputation only suffered when Bruce became manager and he wanted big hard defenders across all areas of the pitch with a winger and a striker to make up the numbers. I still remember the look of absolute disgust Schar threw at him when he was shouting some utter shite from the dugout.
  21. Forgot about Anderson, that would make more sense. So main worry would be up front then, Isak will start, but he's patched up, and not sure we have any cover unless Wilson is on the bench as Gordon is also out for this game.

Precisely. He's 72, things have changed a lot since his time, not all of them for the better, but without getting into deep philosophical or political arguments, it's hard to deny that the likes of Matt le Tiss or Tim Sherwood offer better insight than Alex Scott. She's got far more insight than half a dozen male pundits. One thing which does piss me off though is when there's no distinction made when reporting games, either on TV or digital media. The amount of times I've seen Chelsea 2 Spurs 7 flash up on the screen and thought WTF? Just stick WSL in front of it so I don't think I'm getting a Premier league result.
  23. Looks like Isak will probably be patched up and sent out for this final game before the international break. Not sure who we'll go with on the left flank with Gordon missing and the other three options out. I think I'd rather go with Lewis Hall than risk sending Joelinton out if there's any doubt over his hamstring.

    Jamaal Lascelles

I don't think he's improved that much tbh, he's always had a ceiling as a defender in that he is actually a very decent defender, but limited with his ability to bring the ball out. People who slagged him off previously will now revise their opinions to Howe has improved him. I actually think people get carried away both sides of the argument. He's not the answer for a top side, but at the same time he's still a very capable defender who can cover if our first choice CBs are out.
