Anything but. I'm saying there's no fear of losing Isak as he's got a few years on his contract, but Wilson can walk away at the end of this season for free unless we give him a contract extension. Ideally we want to keep both, but I just wonder if Wilson's head might be turned if a club like Spurs come in for him? They are flush with the Kane cash and Wilson is a guaranteed goal man. He'd be their main striker, here he's used off the subs bench. Obviously he's very important to us, but he hasn't signed a contract extension yet which leaves some doubt.
  2. There go any chance of Man U ever landing big money for an over the hill Maguire. West Ham will probably sack Moyes before he gets the chance to do much more long term damage to their squad.

I'd be less concerned about losing Isak any time soon than Callum Wilson. I thought his contract situation would have been sorted by now but he can walk away for free at the end of this season. You would imagine the owners might have a tough decision to make there if the Spurs rumours have any truth to them.
  4. He said the same thing when we battered them 5-0 in that famous win under Keegan. Must be something about being hit for 5 that triggers denial mode.
  5. They are the elite level of NUFC under Steve Bruce. He finished 11th, they could finish 11th. Or they could get another CL finish with some friendly refs.
  6. He He was in Barluga last week, maybe he naively thought he'd get some privacy by hitting the suburbs. Not with social media mate.
  7. Casimero was always going to be a short term signing at that age. Fabulous player for them last season, but probably a liability the longer this one goes on. He looked like he was fading at the end of the last campaign as well tbh.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

The Cucarella link seems random for sure, he just doesn't seem the sort of player Howe has rated in defence to now. When you think he's preferred Dan Burn over all other options despite being a CB in reality, I just don't see how a small and fizzy forward focused left back would be what he was looking for. The Tierney links seem far more grounded given that we've been following him for months now.
  9. It's the small margins that make the difference over a season. Man U could finish 12th or grab 3rd spot again if they are relatively hard to beat and the officials are looking for chances to jump in on their behalf. As has already been said, they along with Liverpool and Arsenal are a valued and revered brand for the PL. Do we really believe that doesn't factor into the equation when tight decisions decide football games?
  10. They don't really need a striker or a midfield tbh. As long as they can keep a clean sheet, the match officials will make sure they get a goal from somewhere. I still find it hard to believe they finished 3rd last season when they were mostly very ordinary.
  11. Deserve's got nothing to do with it. There are 4-5 clubs who are untouchable as far as the Premier League is concerned, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man U are top of that list, you could maybe add Spurs and Chelsea to that list. Even Man City will be considered nouveau riche upstarts in comparison to those institutions.
  12. They weren't great last season tbh, they got a lot of weird one goal wins like this one.
  13. The PL have to bow and scrape to their paymasters when all's said and done. Klopp even laughed about it over the weekend saying the new dugout rules had been brought in specifically for Newcastle.
  14. He's obviously not putting football ambition at the top of his priorities if he's joining Chelsea ahead of Liverpool when they are on the verge of signing Caceida. Don't they play the same position?

I just look at the finishes like on Saturday, and that touchline magic against Everton last season, and I see a very special player. If you asked me to swap Haaland with Isak I'd say no. I think he won't score as many goals maybe, but he has more in his locker all round.
  16. Nice of him to acknowledge the support, never great when a player gets a potentially career threatening injury.
  17. Love listening to Ally McCoist, wish he was co-commentator for Sky games.

The boy has done you proud. Isak is going to be the next big superstar to rank with Mbappe and Haaland.

Wouldn't pay that tbh. He's great going forward, not sure he's a good defender though.
  20. I see Klopp's been having another sly dig at us over the new dugout rules. I've never been a big fan of the club in general, but their attitude has sunk to new depths under that jaw grinding cunt. Shame because the Liverpool poster on here is sound.
  21. I don't think it's that, just because he plays in such a pivotal area of the pitch, if he gets robbed of the ball it often leads to a goal chance for the opposition. At the same time, if he rides the challenge successfully, like he does 90% of the time, he is usually in a great position to set us going.
  22. If Adam Driver had a cooler younger brother, it would be Tonali.

The British teams have generally all done will in the CL in recent years, not sure there's that much to fear these days, other than the Madrids or PSGs. There's only a handful of teams who are off the charts good, and they can't all be in our group.
  24. No one would want us up next after yesterday. I thought these were untouchable a week ago, now not so sure. Gundogan will be a big miss, and we might just run them down.
  25. I was surprised to see them play such a high line, you would have thought with their pace up front, they would be better suited to sitting back. Especially if they are going to play Tielemans.
