Would love that signing just to see Everton fans go into meltdown over us pinching another one of their best players in the space of a calendar year.
-
Eddie was genuinely keen on him, pretty sure he said as much. Whether we still want him after being given the run around for two windows is doubtful though. Think we've moved on, but wouldn't be surprised if he still goes on to be a great signing for someone.
-
Not even sure how they are midtable tbh. Presumably they've got a couple of decent players on loan which is masking their general shitness.
-
Since we walloped them last week, Man U seem to have shifted up a gear and seemed to be putting more men forward against Everton, they looked like they were a team on a mission. There again, might have helped they were playing a Dyche team where he was probably more defensive than others will be, especially considering they are fighting relegation.

Some absolutely baffling decisions made in the last month or so, I can only imagine it's in the hope of getting some new manager bounce, even if it's only a short term measure until the end of the season. Working out for Palace anyway, which is a shame since their owner is such a cunt.

Yeah I get there was some bad blood over the relegation gloating during that season, but before that I always considered Villa a traditional big club, one from the midlands which every region always needs. I'm surprised people are still carrying that over, but would imagine it's just a few 'nackers who take everything to heart.

If Howe has said that then he won't even be on the bench.
-
Has it been confirmed he's not fit? A week's a long time in football, it could be he was left out of the squad against Brentford to give him enough time to fully recover for the game against Villa.

It's not personal bias, I just don't agree Bruce did a good job. As @Chris_R has shown quite graphically, the only thing Bruce did a good job of was taking us on a downward trajectory. I think John Carver or one of the three Steves could have done the same job when they weren't stuffing their faces with all day breakfasts at the training ground caf. Is that doing a good job? Not by my definition.
-
No he didn't. It was all based on Rafa's structure, the only thing he managed to do was gradually destroy it, which most of us predicted would happen. He didn't do a decent job, he was just there.
-
Also his team at the time Villareal were in the QF of a European cup competition, I think he was probably conflicted about leaving them for a club struggling in a relegation scrap. But ultimately he wanted to be back in the Premier so he said yes to us before bottling it, then came over at the next opportunity.

Emery is obviously a good manager, but I will always find it hard to rate him in the highest bracket after he did a U-turn on coming here. That along with how he lost respect among the Arsenal dressing room where they laughed at him behind his back makes you wonder if he has a ceiling as a manager at this level. As a result hard to believe we will lose this, just can't see him getting the better of Howe.
-
I don't think that would be the worst option tbh, an ambitious championship club would probably be a decent fit. He was always a good coach and tactician which makes him better than 90% of most managers in the English football leagues. I always respected Rafa's methods precisely because he knew exactly what he wanted, and made sure his players bought into it as well. It might take a year or two, but you would imagine he'd find his way back into the premier league within a year or two if he was put in charge of a championship club.
-
Yes, Watford fans seem to rate him very highly. I'd be more than happy to get him in even after a poor season by his standards.

It still pisses me off how Spurs seem to be picking up points through sheer fluke or bent refereeing like over the weekend. They should have been out of the picture as well if things hadn't gone their way so often with rank officiating. Hopefully that will even out over the last couple of months but probably the best outlook is to keep doing the business, and the CL places will look after themselves.
-
I think you answered your own question in that post. Who do you think looked better yesterday, Longstaff or Rice? Sean's doing a great job this season but when you see genuine quality in that position, then you know the upgrade is going to have to come at some point.
-
Yeah I noticed that on the replay, he sees stuff really early. Class, class player.
-
Fuck the haters, I like it.
-
Kind of cool that the only player who has anywhere near as much self belief is probably Callum Wilson. Both absolutely convinced they are world beaters.
-
Just priceless

5-1. Get fucked you cockney cunts.
