Much as I love the guy, he has to show some more aggression in the final third. He made the full back's job too easy by looking for the easy pass or hesitating to go at them when he had the chance. The delivery from the right side improved massively once Willock and Murphy came on.

I thought it wasn't the worst plan as long as we didn't concede a poor goal early on. We competed well early doors, should have took the lead, and then you've got some real pace and skill to bring off the bench when there's more space in the second half. But we did concede the early goal, and that sort of kills the whole game plan. Everyone's a genius in hindsight.

Didn't think he looked any more composed on the ball than usual, but he defended well, and finally we had someone to attack the set pieces again.

Any striker will go through a spell where he is missing chances so I'm not going to judge on that yet. But he's too easy to mark out of a game at the moment, if he's not scoring goals, he's not doing much else.

Props to Pep for showing Howe respect before and after the game. Some of his less qualified fellow managers could learn something about respect, especially those with huge teeth working on Merseyside.
