If that's the move where he eventually put Barnes through instead I think it's a harsh criticism. It did looked like he should have passed earlier, but it was a great piece of close control to slip Barnes through instead. If Barnes hadn't let it roll too wide long it should have been 5-0 anyway.
  2. What I meant was that owners who were purely driven by making a short to meidum term turnaround on their investment might not go down that route. Someone like Mike Ashley for example. As a long term investment, sure a stadium will eventually pay off. Even then we would have to start winning stuff to grab some of the share of global audience. It all comes down to whether we see a path to winning stuff I guess. That will mean buying the best players or equivalent at some point.
  3. I didn't see the first half, but they got stronger as the game went on in the second half, and we got progressively worse.
  4. MOTD on Liverpool's first equaliser: "and the goal is being checked here for a potential offside by Luis Diaz...it's been cleared!." Then they don't show the replay so we can see for ourselves.
  5. He'd be the perfect squad player if PSR allowed us to keep local players instead of having to sell them.
  6. Liverpool would have had to finish 0-0 for anything other than an Anfield wankfest.
  7. I hope we deal with Mbuemo better than we did at their place. I said before the game that their front three might cause us problems and both him and Wissa scored.
  8. Ironic but Tonali would probably be a far better fit for current City than Bruno. But I guess once Rodri is back then that might change. It does show the quality of midfielders we have on our books if we can get the team set up right.

    Harvey Barnes

Looked like he was trying too hard to me.
  10. Not really, we've been here before this season. Our defence wasn't really tested today, it's how they hold up against better opposition which will determine our season. But it was a good performance, and a cracking win. Now we need to make sure we don't drop the ball in the next couple of games, we have a bit of ground to make up, and that means back to back wins are much needed.
  11. Yeah was a bit pissed off that Forest scored a winner but of the two I would rather they took the 3 points as I don't think they can sustain it if they get a couple of injuries.
  12. Gan on Ruud, you know you want him. We turned down £8m from the MSL side, but we'll give you the go ahead for that price no probs.
  13. Thought we might have a chance of GOTD on Sky but they'll be wanking over Liverpool no doubt.

    Kieran Trippier

Looked good in the short time he was out there, although admittedly it was hardly a test. Wonderful distribution as when he was at his best.
  15. They've shown they won't roll over like Leicester. We have to be 100% against these, especially at the back.
  16. Miggy isn't going to make much of a dent in PSR assuming anyone will even buy him now. But yes in theory I would love that.
  17. We'll need to deal with Delap, that would be a bigger test than we had today considering the shambles we put up against Brentford.
  18. We really need to follow this up with a run of good performances to make up for those sloppy points dropped in the last few games.
  19. Yep, was thinking exactly that. Bruno is such a good player but he does like to hold the ball rather than move it quickly. Which is great in many ways, but defences probably prefer that to the lightning incisions that Tonali provides.
  20. It's a shame, because he is all of those things, but he's also lacking in some really top tier football assets. He's a perfect squad player really, would be a very important member as well, but because of the PSR noose, we have to sell players, and if it's not him or someone like him, it will be Isak or Bruno.
  21. So hard to defend against as well. Imagine a few more doing the same thing and you are Barcelona of Messi's time. Minus Messi admittedly.
  22. Couldn't have said it better.
  23. I know this is sarcasm, but it's been good to see us taking a few short instead of floating balls into the penalty area to watch Burn loop his header into the sky.
  24. Felt like the rest of the team was playing on his wavelength today, although might have been the abject opposition. We were pinging the ball around quickly, and that's his greatest asset. Seems to cut out at least one extra pass with his quick thinking and layoffs.
  25. They were two cracking strikes tbf. He'd be a good squad player, but unless we want to sell a purple, it would be a great time to cash in.
