I think Burn will be fully occupied at CB the way the injuries have panned out. We are down to just Botman and Thiaw basically, and you wouldn't want to bet on Botman staying fit for the rest of the season.

Alpha was the term used so I was just answering that question. The point is, there does need to be a hierarchy and that's the way the game is heading at most of the clubs these days. The game has changed massively since the Keegan era. I was actually reading about this today in an article about Amorin clashing with the DOF at Man U who is by all accounts quite a mild person. Ross Wilson will just have to be good at his job according to whatever remit he's been given. As long as he is, then he doesn't need to beat his chest about it.
-
Mitchell's job WAS to be the alpha. That's the way most clubs are set up these days, where the DOF makes all the decisions running the club, and the coach is responsible for coaching. Whether Mitchell was actually any good at his job is another matter, it might be he was hopeless. But Wilson will need to deliver on all the same fronts, whether we like it or not, most clubs are running this model. We have actually done well in recruiting one of the best coaches in the PL in Howe, but even he will need to work within the framework set by Wilson according to the club's overall vision.

Agree. I've tried to be supportive of him here, I really wanted him to work out. But while he's not making massive mistakes, he doesn't really make any outstanding saves either. One of the key attributes of a keeper should be coming out and making himself bigger, and he doesn't do it convincingly. Too many fly into the corners from distance, which might look like well placed shots, but would a top keeper not get across unless they are hit really hard? Regardless, I thought he was superb in the penalty shoot out, and he deserves to be a hero for that. I don't want him here permanently though.

Or at worst, if they aren't put off, we will probably get a very decent fee for a player who has tended to be injury prone.
-
Same here. He's coming back after some long lay offs and might just be rusty. I would prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt because when he's been good, he's been absolutely top drawer.
-
Botman was at fault as well, I already said this in an earlier post. But Ramsdale should have been out quicker to try and smother the shot once he was through.
-
He's got the worst penalty technique I've seen in ages. Please don't take any more Bruno. You have plenty to give in other ways.
-
Majestic header btw. It was a great cross by Gordon, but still a lot of work to get that inside the post from there.
-
Class pen as well. This lad is cool as fuck.
-
Whacking them just under the bar doesn't leave much margin for error like.
-
It was tbh. Love you, but don't ever take one again Bruno.
-
He was shit for their 3rd goal. Think even their 2nd should probably have been saved. But he made up for it in the shoot out.
-
That's all you can say at this point. That was awful for their third goal.
-
Thought he was pretty great on the pens like. There was one he could have saved, the rest were hit hard into the corners, he did well to get close.
-
They've defended with a bit more tenacity than we have.
-
All fart and no shit. Getting into good crossing positions, but no one really making a decisive run.
-
We are fine in the middle area of the pitch, just shite in both penalty areas. Where it counts.
-
We look decent until it gets to the final third, then we run out of ideas. Or in Ramsey's case, just run out the ball.
-
I'd take his PL performances as a better barometer than his England ones. Much tougher competition for the most part. England get to whip some pretty poor teams for most of their competitive games, then it gets exponentially harder when they advance to the big tournaments.
-
We'd be guaranteed to get shafted if we try and buy him back. He wasn't pulling up any trees when he was here for whatever reason. Maybe we used him wrong, or he just didn't click at the time. I'd be worried if he came back he'd end up getting a load of flak if he wasn't able to reproduce his form at Forest. Maybe if he becomes available further down the line at the right price we can see if it's still doable.
-
I just don't see us going into the market to cover a month at most. If he's not up to it, then I reckon we'll use Krafth or Miley. Unless there's a decent loan option maybe.
-
Not a chance. City are supposedly in for him as well now, he's not picking us over them and Liverpool. Burn will be back in a few weeks, if Lascelles is close to fitness we'll probably just make do until then.

I was impressed with Leeds, thought they would be prime candidates for relegation. I think they'll stay clear though, they have lots of spirit and DCL is a good target man for them.
