A good thing imo, as long as he's used properly. Since he's been out, teams have been able to dribble a bowling ball through our midfield without any pressure. Nobody's working as hard as he does or tracking the opposition like he does. I'd find a place for him in a central three. Suppose. Especially if Perch is injured! Anita, cabs and Jonas as a three, obertan and Marv either side of Papiss. Debuchy, Taylor, coloccini and santon at the back and the excuses are gone.

I'd quite like to see Santon at right back and Fergie at left back. I know Fergie is raw but he's never let us down at left back (Man U away, Chelsea away in the cup to name a few) and while he does have flaws defensively, he obviously offers far more going forward. I can only imagine what Santon or Fergie could have done with the space afforded to Simpson in the last 2 games.

Find it hard to disagree. This is where saving a million or two on the Debuchy deal is ridiculous. Every position in the league is worth half a million. And relegation costs us 50m.

Agree 100%. His decision making is very very poor and his control is average at best. I'd be playing him wide but try to get him coming off the wing a bit more than he was last year.

Ba can't control the ball and makes te wrong decision in the final third 9 times out of 10. That decision is usually to shoot no matter what other options are on or where he is on the pitch. We can only play one of them so let's play the one who doesn't have a release clause in his deal and an agent(s) who is actively touting him elsewhere.

There's literally no reason at all that we can't play Marveaux in the Cabaye role, though. Thats the real problem at the moment. A few players get injured and Pardew panicks and changes the whole system. It should be as seamless as possible with Marveaux slotting into that position and the shape staying the same.
