I was thinking this the other day. Was really good for Watford when he played week in and week out for them but hasn't really got a chance at Bolton and has kind of fluffed it on the rare occassions he was put in, but I reckon it's more down to a lack of confidence. Could be the big dirty championship defender we need alongside Bassong. Worse than shit. Partly to blame for our relegation with the goal he gifted Hull in the 1-1 draw at the Reebok. A joke of defender with less of a brain than Titus. No thanks. A young defender like Matthew Mills at Doncaster or Roger Johnson at Cardiff would be a much better option.

Anyway, my workings are based on 65k being 3.5m a year give or take and 2.6m being 50k a week give or take. I love Habib but he's no longer good enough going forward. Considering we'll have loads of possession at home I think this might be a bit of a problem. I'd like to see him play centre half with Taylor next year and add two pacy attacking full backs like Naughton and Fox.

Those figures can't be right. No way did we give Bassong 30k, Gonzalez is not on 50k cos Valencia won't be giving him 50k, Guthrie will not be on 40k. I doubt the Enrique, Lovenkrands and Shola figures are right either.

Fabian Delph Miles Addison Ferri Bodde Jonjo Shelvey Jordi Gomez Would give us some quality in the middle of the park. Jamal Campbell Ryce Victor Moses Hameur Bouzza Would do jobs in wide positions. I'm not sure there's any strikers I would take. We can probably loan players from the Premier League.

The only players I can see staying are Harper, Taylor x 2, Guthrie, Lovenkrands, Carroll and Shola. The rest will be gone. Even the likes of Smith will find buyers (Moyes bid 3m last year and he's a good manager!).Geremi will go to Europe, Blackburn will take Nolan. Xisco, Jonas, Colo and Enrique will go back to Spain, Barton will go to a club who have no money and will therefore take the gamble. Beye, Bassong and Martins will find clubs easy. Duff will probably be picked up by a promoted side maybe Birmingham. Hopefully a promoted club will take Butt as well. If you could offset the loss of going down against the save in wages, we might be able to spend a bit of the money we bring in from sales which will probably be about 40m.

Will it really hit him in pocket that much? It costs 50m to go down and we'll clear 50m off the wage bill. Add another 30-40m on players sales and will the losses really be bad?

Any criticising Ryan Taylor should remember that the best right back in the Championship since Xmas has probably been Steven Carr. Don't let anyone fool you about the quality of that league, its pathetic.

I've never been a through a relegation so me a little. It might not kick in until the first game of the season, but we deserve to go down. We've not been hard done by and next season would have been another season of shit anyway. If, its a massive if, we can do good work over the summer and get promoted next year, a lot of good feeling would be created by it. We need to back whoever is in charge and bring in young hungry players with a bit of experience.
