I;d like something like GIVEN BEYE COLO BASSONG ENRIQUE GEREMI GUTHRIE JONAS OWEN XISCO DUFF/ZOG I like the Geremi- Beye linkup and Geremi's crossing is something that Owen thrives on.I also like the system and Duff or Zog could easily play the Martins role- Playing onm the last man on the left, looking for that diagonal ball between the right back and centre half. That do just fine I think. The front two and midfield probably wouldn't be good enough to pullup any trees, but would be good enough for mid table.

All could be back next week. Lets bloody hope so. Have we had any definitive updates re the last 3?
-
I wouldn't go quite as far as to solely blame Butt for the defeat but he really is a joke. Unable to pass, not winning the ball and shown up completely by Cacapa today- who was no better than average. Fortunately, with his contract up at the end of the season he'll be gone soon. But I can barely stomach watching another match he plays in. Geremi, Guthrie and Jonas is the way forward for me. Geremi has actually looked good lately- his legs look to have returned somewhat and the quality he knocks in the box is underrated. Those three with Owen, Martins and Xisco/ Viduka fills me with a bit of confidence. At least in terms of keeping and passing the ball, and competing in midfield physically.

Butt and Cacapa off for Bassong and Nacho please. Something like below second half. Given Edgar Taylor Bassong Zog Geremi Colo Nacho Owen Duff Xisco We need to match their extra numbers in midfield as Noble, Parker and Behrami are playing as a three. Bassong will give us more pace and physicality at the back and hopefully Nacho, Coloccini and Geremi will be able to keep the ball second half. On a different note, why is always our best players who get injured? Why does Nicky Butt never pick up an injury that will keep him out while Jonas and Oba do?

Experienced? Yes Large profile? Yes Plays good football? Yes Willing to work in our ridiculous system? Yes Can teach our players how to take free kicks? Possibly- its a tough job! Could replace Butt in the middle of the park? Yes Bring him in immediately I say.

If they sign a load of players, a lot of good players from their squad will probably be available. You would think Elano might be out, as they'd have plenty of creative players in his position, Petrov could be moved on, even the likes of Fernandes and Onouha would be very good signings for us. Will be interesting to say the least,

Ignacio María González signed from Valencia on year-long loan deal

We've got an option to buy Obinna. Surely not. Why would they sign him this summer just to loan him out and then sell him the next year? -
I would like to see us go back to the 4-3-2-1 again. A pacy, strong, mobile striker instead of Viduka, and Jonas and Guthrie replacing Butt and Geremi. Add in a strong, energetic midfielder to replace Barton in that system and we could have a really good side. I'm not 100% sure why KK has went back to 4-4-2, maybe he believes no-one else in the squad can play the Owen role. Hull at home in a few weeks should be very interesting. God willing, Owen and Oba will be fit and we will have brought in the midfielder and striker mentioned above. We'll then know what system we'll go with for the season.

I think we're going to sign Micah Richards. That would be a 'wow' signing. They've bought Kompany to replace him and we've let Faye go to free up space in the squad. It all makes perfect sense! Or we could just be buying Nedum Onouha.

I'd like to think we might have a word with Valencia re Manuel Fernandes today. He's the sort of midfielder who can do it all. Sit and spray it from deep and get forward and have a crack at goal. He's got bags of quality and his set pieces are handy as well.

Coloccini will fill the right back void, otherwise I agree. I agree in theory, but f he plays really well at centre half, I would be loathe to move him to right back if Beye got injured. A young, pacy right back would be nice. Hopefully Vetere will pull his finger out and find someone on the cheap. If we could get Warnock, Coloccini and a young right back for 15m, the defence would be sorted. Holding midfielder and a striker would finish our business.
-
Proof tonight that, assuming Coloccini comes in, we need a right back (geremi was useless), a left back (N'Zogbia is not a left back), a centre midfielder (Butt is finished) and a forward (no explanation needed). Still a bit of work to do then. Jonas, Duff and Guthrie were pluses. Add to them Owen, Faye, Beye, and Martins and we're not too bad. Smith and Shola MUST be gone by the end of this transfer window. I can't watch them play again. I would have preferred Danquah and Godsmark to have got a game! Bit of pace and youthful exuberance.
-
Good signing. 1878, whats going on with Fernandes? Would be a great signing for us and surely you wouldn't bring in him and Moutinho?
-
What about Royston Drenthe on a season long loan? Could Vetere pull some strings?
-
Christ. I just assumed he wouldn't be here next year. This thread has just made me think he might be.
-
Can someone help me out? Has Rooney been shit or is it just me? I thought he was useless against Switzerland but everyone went on like he was amazing. The amount those two twats on the BBC wank over him has me doubting myself sometimes. Dunno why, they're as clueless as they come.
-
Thank you very much John Terry. Now I have to avoid the media for 3 months at least.
-
More evidence that Rooney is overrated as fuck. Done nowt tonight. Managed to not miss any clear cut chances though, so a slight improvement from usual big games.

Rangers look to have blown it. All Celtic need is a win in their last game- assuming Rangers don't pull of some of freak scores. Its just about what their fans deserve!!
