  1. At this current point in time, the Liverpool game at St. James' for me. It was the most entertaining day ever. Carroll being shite and pretty much laughed at (walking straight down the tunnel when he got substituted was funny too); Enrique being embarrassed by Ben Arfa (and then having to go in goal); Dalglish being shooed off the pitch by Gerrard. Liverpool's implosion in general really. Oh, I shall remember that day for a long time yet!
  2. Yep. He also scored for us in the Championship (which also seemed to be a cross-come-shot).
  3. Well, I still think it's worth it. After all, it is still a trophy and one which is somewhat prestigious.
  4. Admittedly, there was a period in the past when the League Cup was actually pointless but I think that nowadays, it's a better competition. That is, the "smaller" teams have started taking the competition a bit more seriously (and have been doing well against the big teams). Seeing Birmingham win it last season and Cardiff coming close to winning it this season were good things to see tbh (I do like a good underdog story). Our record in the League Cup seems to be shite though.
  5. I say keep things the way they are (for the time being anyway). I, for one, am an advocate of the League Cup and I would love it if we won it someday. Sure it's not as prestigious as the FA Cup but it's still a decent test imo - you will meet the big teams along the way (okay, they might field an understrength team but most of the time, their reserves are still of a decent level). One thing I've noticed over the years is that once a team gets into the quarters, that's when, say the big teams, start to take the competition seriously. In any case, the League Cup certainly gives our youth/reserve players the chance to shine. The means of qualifying for the CL/Europa League should remain the same. Actually, one thing I would like to get rid of is the runners-up of the FA Cup being able to qualify for Europe if the winner already has CL football guaranteed and all that.....
  6. Urgh, Jonathan Pearce again with some cringeworthy commentary.
  7. Now that's a great goal from Tevez.

Ahah, but that's where you're wrong. He is out of contract in the summer. Be scared, people of Sunderland, be scared. He'll only be 35 too, so plenty of years in the tumbling bear yet. Please let it happen

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Nah, again I'd rather have Ben Arfa This clause talk though, hmmm.
  10. No problem we will just buy M'Biwa for the same price but seriously it would have to get a better source than click-manchester.com to get me worried....... I dont think United need defenders anyway and i higly doubt there is any truth behind this. Ban me before i kill myself ffs How many times is that now? Btw, if we, for whatever reason, miss out on Douglas then I'd be more than happy with M'Biwa.
  11. Got 9 points today 4 to play tomorrow (Vermaelen, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ashley Young, captain RvP).

They're all in the pubs (even though it would actually be more expensive on this occasion!).

  17. I hear Garth Crooks is going to be on MOTD tonight. Can't wait.
  18. Won't we need a new thread soon btw?
  19. Apparently, Fernandez has plans for that eventuality. He said a few months ago that they would be "prepared" if QPR went down.
