  1. It is benefitial to the player - he is paid to leave What benefits does it bring to a club ? Nothing! In case the contract isn't payed off in its full value(as I guess most contracts are released with 75% of their values or close to that). Clubs are taking huge risks by signing players on long term contracts in the first place(unless the player is really worth the money) as we did with most of our current guys like Duff, Geremi, Smith, Butt, Nolan, Ameobi, Jonas, Coloccini the list goes on...think about how much the club would suffer to release all those and because of their huge wages no-one would take them even for free as they wouldn't take a pay cut
  2. Isn't that a common procedure! Why would any player agree to leave when he's on a good contract? That's pretty much our problem at the moment as well...Ashley would be releasing every single player if that's possible but for example Butt, Nolan and Smith all had to paid off about 75% of their remaning contracts to get them leave(which I doubt they would anyway)
  3. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6736633.ece?token=null&offset=24&page=3 That's a bit harsh IMHO! I know we'll struggle if nothing happens quick but a relegation... Harper R Taylor S Taylor Bassong Enrique Jonas Guthrie Barton Duff/Lovenkrands Nolan Carroll Pretty much that team(replace Andy with Oba) got me promoted back to Premier League in FM 09 straight away with about 115 points
  4. Sums up my thoughts too. Just think about that the club payed them around 13million a year and what we really got in exchange? Great deal IMO
  5. Long balls against a fucking League One opponent!
  6. it's not loyalty it's greedy...if the players had any sort of ambition(like Bassong...the ones really capable of playing at a higher level) they would be asking for transfers and were willing to take a pay cut instead of insinsting their loyalty just because of their huge paychecks! When you're making as much money as the most of our current players does it really matter taking a cut of like 5-10K a week? I'd understand their persistent to stay at the club if it was 20 years ago when the wages was pretty reasonable
  7. Sure it is but unfortunately they won't be given a decent chance to prve themselves! It's been always like that at Newcastle and managers have their jobs in line so why bother risking it by choosing maybe a more talented but unproven player who "could" become a success in the long run when you can build a squad from our "more experienced" guys like Butt and Nolan! At least they'll produce the basic shit consistently...like last season Pre-season is a different story but right at the beginning of the season it's back to the basics and the team sheet will surely include the names like Duff, Butt, Ameobi and the lis goes on Lua Lua could be an exception though
  8. Same reason as me. Same here plus the general style of play at the time(The Entertainers...ohh how I miss those days)
  9. This sort of collapsing should never ever happen to a "professional" team! None of the high earner first teamers are showing no guts or desire and no doubt our reserves or even the youth team would have done better! I'dbe glad if we just payout the remaining contracts of these few fuckers and start all over as I'm shit scared of the opening day of the season...

    Man City

By offering them huge wages! Simple as that and you don't need to be looking for an example from too far way...
  11. Do you really blame Ashley for this? How about the playign staff on the pitch?
  12. And Mr. Nice guy Hughton is full of praise for the players who tried their best and gave everything but the things just didn' go our way...
  13. Want away Bassong would make no difference IMO...
  14. Pretty much our strongest eleven playing and we're 0-2 down to fucking Leyton Orient!!!
  15. Shola MOM against Darlo in the official site with over 30% of the votes...did he really had that good game apart from the goals?(which was nicely taken no doubt)
  16. I wouldn't be too much worried...Hammers won'r be paying the price we're asking for him
  17. Seems like a possible starting XI for the season as well...I see Martins, Nolan, Duff and Smith all going before the start of the season. Very strong line-up for this level IMO. Ranger is in Ukraine with U19 team Hopefully Xisco and Shola won't be on the pitch at the same time! Unbareable to watch that amount of lazyness
  18. Not much point playing against these very little 10th level clubs for top teams IMO like they do a lot in Germany for example. How is that supposed to prepare anyone if they give like 30% and still beat the opponents by 10 goals?
  19. Surely turns out to be a signing of the season...happens with every defender who fails with us!
  20. Nolan hasn't exactly earned his right to speak out quite yet IMO...so shut the fuck up you overpaid lazy bastard and do something in exchange for your huge wage

    Number 9 2009/2010

True! Has started great at his new club Koblenz in German 2.Bundesliga with 3 goals in 2 friendly games! Perfect player for CCC level and would be an iimediate fans favourite too
  22. Exactly my thoughts! Looks like they're just having some good time in training sessions for the last few years. I think I'm doing more running in my 4 times a week trainings than this bunch of lazy and overpaid suckers! We're going to need a bloke with some attitude to deal with the training side of the club. No wonder Shearer changed this at first...and Hulse/Elliot left to Liverpool as they clearly are ambitious guys
