Yep partly true...Butt tries but he tries at the wrong time! For a defensive midfielder whose job is to break up opponents plays and win the ball back to us and then with a simple pass start an attack he's doing pretty much everything wrong! He shouldn't be closing down so high up on the pitch but keep his position between the defence and midfield and support either when needed. At the moment we constantly see him running towards opponent's player holding up the ball and "surpringly" they go through him so easily with a couple of passes which leaves Butt jogging back looking disinterested as he clearly can see it himself that it's just too late...against fast counters attacks this just get highlighted so badly

Surprisingly Butt had a decent game against Chelski but as overall he's been very very poor all season! Okay...Butt only started but Geremi and Smith were on the bench and so would have been Viduka and Shola if they just were fit enough

The gap between youth/reserves and Premier League is quite big no doubt about it but I hate this when Shearer says that "I'll always pick Owen when he's fit"! Not sure but it certainly looks that Shearer is another guy who prefers experience over potential ability. So we'll see a lot of Butt, Smith, Duff, Geremi, Viduka etc. instead of our more promising youngsters a la Ranger, Carroll, LuaLua, Vukic...who have've playing good all season and showing twice better form than any of the former mentioned! Butt and co have clearly shown they have no desire to fight for the club(except saying so...) anymore not to mention class! Unfortunaly I'm not that sure we'll going to make it out of the dropzone in last 7 games so what we're going to lose if some of these youngsters would be given a chance? Only Jose Enrique, Seb Bassong, Habib Beye and Jonas are players who should be guaranteed a certain first team spot at the moment IMO! A huge improvement in performances is required from the rest and pretty fast indeed

So true! Very strong and calm central defence supported by quality fullbacks! Something to build on...but the problem is still in the central midfield as they can't provide any sort of support and cover for Colo/Taylor & Bassong

I don't know where is this set-piece specialist thing coming from? Taylor scored couple of them against us and apaprt from Steven's header in the opening game there's no evidence whatsoever about his specialist ability...actually he's just getting worse at them piece by piece! It really mus be bugging our other players(if there are any) who are supposed to have some ability at taking dead ball situations as they see Ryan being picked as 1st man to take them and see him constantly failing at them. He offers nothing at all for the team and should be dropped ASAP! If Shearer was at the receiving end of those kicks no doubt Raylor would be gone by now!

Why don't they just buy a plain white T-shirts for the players as it certainly would be cheaper...horrible desing indeed

I believe Bruce would manage us even if we were relegated...he seems to desperate for the job and certainly it's not up for the wage knowing our policy of throwing it in the wind Finland 222222-0...Jari Litmanen at his age of 38 would yet double our midfield's creativity. Lovely through passes for both of Finland's goals

Did Hughton already sign the new contract until 2011? If so...he won't be sacked but it's not the same as with "real" managers as their wages are much bigger! The release fee Cashley should pay is like nothing compared to KK and SA

If that's true that Newcastle players have come out with such a vote of no confidence towards our current coaching duo there's no way these clowns(CH & CC) can continue at their jobs! They should be released from their jobs with an immidiate effect or at the least in the summer together with JK. If I was Hughton I couldn't be working for players who are saying such things... On the other hand I can totally understand players reaction as none of the fans seems to think nothing good about the management either...

Maybe but I'm yet to be convinced that Hughton is any better than JK as his stats are even worse! It was something like 2 draws from 9 or 10 games, right?

fyp This. Moncur is a legend and is right. JFK for all his bashing has at times got this team playing with some success. Care to explain a bit more? What fucking success? is 5 wins(WBA twice, Spurs(H), Pompey(A) and Villa(H)) in 20 games success for you? Points per game average being 1,15 which is pretty much the same as relegation rate

What's with the post-match interviews from Hughton? He seem to be insisting that we played well for a certain time and then collapsed but there is nothing wrong the players commitment and general effort. He also keep saying that Owen has a huge role to play in the relegation dogfight and right after that Owen is droped from the starting XI(deservedly so though). Some of our more experienced players are saying that the players are up for the challenge but nothing seems to be indication that's exactly the truth! 1 fucking win in last 14 games and they seem so confident about the survival I'm dead scared about the current mess and there are no signs of any immediate improvements (like iot's gonna get any better when is back) and Ashley's just looking sad in the at the matches doing nothing to change things around. There are so many players who clearly are not up for the challenge no matter what they keep saying and they should be dropped ASAP and some of our younger talents should be given a chance as they surely have something to prove unlike these "should I really care as I'm leaving anyway" looking bunch of useless mercenaries...

That hardly was Taylor's fault! Did enough already by blocking 2 clear goals superbly!

Butt is getting only worse game by game and he's been doomed by pretty much all the fans on the board and deservedly so but still we can't drop him as he's our only option really! So sad :-[ As long as Owen, R.Taylor, Shola stay out of the starting XI I'm reasonably happy. No way we can win this match-up so better not getting too high hopes...

Hmmm...not that great at those either. In his debut game(the one when Raylor delivered and Saylor scored) he had a few decent set-pieces but since then he's been generally very poor at set-pieces!

And still both of them make easily to our midfield...

I'm defending him any way but none of the goals actually came from his mistakes(thanks to S.Taylor) But what an awful performance from a 10million signing...

Tried very hard and caused a lot of trouble for Gunners defence but it was just his day! Everthing went against him...

I'm glad with anyone else than Kinner or Hughton! That's sad but we're going to need another caretaker to save our asses from the drop but an immediate long term signing would be much better with the likes of Martinez, Ketsbaia etc...

We weren't unlucky, we just ran out of steam with the likes of Butt and Nolan, and heart with the likes of Duff. Having two defenders going off with injury isn't unlucky? Sure we were unlucky with the injuries but that had nothing to do with the loss in the end! We were fucking awful in general! OK 1st half but everything since then was unbareable to watch

1 win in last 14 games against the poorest team in the league plus draws against such mighty teams as West Ham(H), Hull(twice H+A), Sunderland(H) and Everton(H)! I'm so fucking scared...

Decent 1st half but it's horrible how bad we collapse after going goal down! Oba was lucky to bring us back to level but the defence in general was awful once again(apart from Saylor). They didn't get much support from the midfield either but Raylor, Butt and Nolan were all fucking awful! Duff played some good parts in the opening half but totally faded away in the 2nd. I really can't see what some people see in R.Taylor? Yet another horrible performance today... Oba, Lovenkrands and Owen and still we play high balls for them...get a fucking grip! 3 midgets who are all great when running onto the ball and we just hoof it up the pitch without any kind of aim. And why wasn't Jonas on the pitch today? Our midfield is so poor that you can't even call it midfield especially without Jonas! It kinda looks that players don't know their roles very good as everyone is trying to do everything without any sort of success. And finally...Coloccini! I have defended him alll season and kinda understood some of his poor performances due to the fact that we have no midfield to prove any kind of a cover but today was an absolute disaster!!!
