  1. It was an attempt to keep up with recent expansions of other clubs, or brand new stadiums, whatever, as that's all we had, was the second largest capacity in England. But who gives a fuck about that now? The future is a lot brighter, and I'd much rather we expanded when we're performing on the pitch and not as an attempt to cling on to 'something'.
  2. No problem with that, if he thinks he can do something better or he thinks it's a ridiculous exercise, then go for it Mike.
  3. Brilliant title for this thread like.
  4. Spain journo on the radio yesterday said it was the club that wanted Beckham out. Maybe so, but by the end they clearly wanted him to stay. Perhaps blaming Capello for bringing it to the stage it got to. Who knows, it was the Mirror that said this anyway, probably guessing like the rest.
  5. Forcing Beckham out has something to do with it, apparently...
  6. Wooft, rather them than us. Going to be nice to see the realisation that Bent is nowhere near as good as people in this country make out.
  7. I think the position we were in, and with the managers we had when we signed them, they were probably necessary. I had no problem with them, it was just the mass denial by fans and the club that they ever existed that did my box in.
  8. Fucking hate Carling. I hate the Carling Academy and I hate the fucken drink. Devastating news.

    The New Anfield.

There's a couple in Sparks' Wembley & Emirates thread. Bit better than the ones in here, but it still looks a bit, well, weird. EDIT: Not anymore actually.
  10. What an awful club, how players can want to play for this lot anymore is utterly beyond me. Shambles.
  11. Wanna bet? I'll bet you 100000000000000000000000 bajillion gajillion quids in cash money that Bayern don't win the Champions League this season PS: I never thought Klose was that good. Only ever saw him in World Cups, never looked owt special to me. Remember him scoring loads against the Saudis in japorea...did f all else, nearly got the golden boot Ooh aye.. knew there was a reason I shouldn't drink early. Still, I think they'll take Germany pretty easy. Don't think they'll win the UEFA though, it's a different beast.
  12. Bayern for the Champions League this season. (Not because of this signing, only..)
  13. Exactly, first sign of trouble. It's almost petty like, wouldn't stop whining about it.
  14. Tbf to Henry, he did all he can to Arsenal, he needed a new challenge and was already told he will NOT be getting a new contract come next season, i can't really blame him for leaving, at the very least Arsenal got some money out of him..beats moving on free next year And neither he fucking should, he just signed one a year ago. He wouldn't be going for free next year. Unless he signed a two year contract last season, which I HIGHLY doubt, but don't actually know. No to be fairs to him at all. I understand the urge for a new challenge, but all his bullshit about Arsenal has left a bad taste in my mouth. Of course he "loves" them, they put him back on the world stage, but he's jumped at the first sign of trouble, a year after reaching the CL final. Awful nice of him.
  15. Must be devestating? Just shows Henry as he is, I like it. Puts Owen in a better light, at least he's never pretended to love us or call us "his club", then fuck off at the first sign of trouble, like Henry at Arsenal. Great player, will be replaced soon enough by any other great player looking to come to England. Contracts, a player's word, all mean fuck all now.

  17. Fair point, would make more sense.
  18. So the clause was real, after all the denying.
