  1. Definitely agree on Gosling. Wouldn't surprise me if he's moved on in the summer.
  2. This. And it's the reason why I'm actually quite confident with Ashley in charge going forward.
  3. Interestingly Sissoko's average position on Saturday was more advanced than Cisse's.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Pardew said he's two weeks away in his BBC post-match interview.
  5. Feel a bit sorry for QPR fans today. Must be ecstatic to know they're signing players who might keep them up but it's all going to end in tears. Within the next five years they'll be in the same situation as Portsmouth.

    Alan Pardew

This post should be made into its own thread and stuck at the top of the forum.
  7. Balotelli is one of those players who you just feel will throw his talent away because of his stupidity/laziness. I hope it works out for him though because if he does get himself together then he'll be a great player.
  8. Think we'll end up lining up like this: Krul Debuchy Yanga-Mbiwa Colo Santon Anita Cabaye Jonas Gouffran Cisse Marveaux Subs: Elliot, Perch, S.Taylor, Sissoko, Obertan, Sh. Amoebi and Sa. Amoebi
  9. Duly note the winks that are after the words on his tweet. Methinks he's on the wind up.
  10. Challenge will be finding the right clubs and the right level for the fringe players we want to loan out. Ameobi, Ferguson, Dummett, Tavernier, Amalfitano and Abeid would probably all need to move to a Championship club for the move to be worth their while, which is challenging as their are only so many clubs who need young players on loan and 20 Premier League clubs who are looking to loan their promising youngster to them. Hopefully a couple will get the right moves. The one who needs it more than any other is Ameobi. Seems to have pretty good raw talent but limited footballing brain which would surely improve by playing every week.
  11. This. He's a decent honest player who's always done his best but sadly isn't good enough to be playing week in week out in the Premier League.
  12. Laudrup or Martinez. Need someone who can get us playing good stuff on the deck.

    Papiss Cissé

The header I can maybe give as a good Federici save but the shot from the cross that Federici saved should have been buried. His second half chance he had so much time and completely fluffed it.

    Papiss Cissé

Happy to blame Pardew for today but Cisse should have scored a hat trick. Had at least three chances that he should have buried.

Having said I want him gone my only caveat after seeing the last few pages is we have to replace him with the right person. That person, in my view, is certainly not Mark Hughes. Laudrup or Martinez would be play the type of football that I think the fans want to see.

Precisely why he's lost me after today. All we needed to do was keep our foot on the pedal and we had that game won.

I am now in this camp. Awful. Me too. Second half today was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Have to say I've defended him relentlessly in recent weeks but he's lost me today. Second half unforgivable in both taking our foot off the pedal and our subs.
  19. Good half. Need to balance being careful of there counter-attack with keeping our foot on the pedal. Don't want to concede a soft goal on the counter-attack but equally don't want to invite them on to us.
  20. Grass is always greener and all that. Not saying he's not a good manager but I'd see no reason to sack Pardew in order to bring in Adkins. If we lose out next two games though (which I bitterly hope we don't) then fair enough sacking Pardew and looking at someone else.
  21. Absolutely bonkers. Increasingly seeing a number of managers sacked for virtually no reason. Good to know there's good options available if we need to get rid of Pardew (not that I think we should).
  22. 84 points. Hazard with 38 and Lambert with 14.
  23. Makes sense us bringing him in as it effectively allows us to gamble on two players as I assume if Haidara comes in it would allow us to loan Ferguson out somewhere, which he really needs if he's ever going to make it.

http://englishfootballpatient.wordpress.com/2013/01/14/what-happened-to-newcastle/ Interesting blog. In short it says that much of our strong season last year could have been down to luck.
