Cover for CB and LB.

Yep, the bid has been rejected.

It's not like we are signing him to start on the right every game. I imagine he is a direct relacement for Geremi in that he will start maybe one game and come on as substitute in a few more. He'll als obe cheaper than Geremi would. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.
-
To be fair if Leeds want to ask for silly money then I am more than hapy for us to walk away.
-
Very dissapointing if we have missed out on him. We need to bring him back on loan at the least.
-
I think Hughton should. Not so sure about Houghton though.
-
To be fair that alone should be reason enough not to put your pension or cash in their hands. Anyone willing to use hearsay or unconfirmed sources when trying to get you to invest aren't worth trusting in my opinion. It's completely amateur.

Celtic quartet Barry Robson, Gary Caldwell, Willo Flood and Chris Killen are having medicals in Middlesbrough ahead of moves to Teesside - BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/middlesbrough/8447259.stm Poor 'Boro fans.

Still not even considering midfield then. Brilliant. To be fair I doubt he has the resources to go after a midfielder as well.
-
No it won't. The tactics will be the same and he won't fully match fit until the end of February at the earliest. Even then I think he will struggle to get in the team. Nolan/Smith is clearly, and rightly, the favoured central partnership. He'll be an imrovement on Butt but it's not going to lead to better football.

Six minutes injury time reminds me why I hate Man Utd.
-
Depends how much we have to pay him. Presumably he's on Premier League wages? At Villa I'd guess he'd be on £30k per week at the very most. Even when you factor in wages as high as that the loan fee + wages comes to less than half of £2 million.
-
i think its fairly evident Harewood wont be coming back. I honestly think if we can't get Beckford then Hughton will bring Harewood back on loan.
-
I'd also be reluctant to pay £2 million+ for Beckford. Essentially your paying for 22 games. That's over £90,000 per game if the transfer fee is £2 million. If we still rate him in the summer then we can sign him for free. Until then I am more than hapy to bring Harewood in until the end of the season at a fraction of the cost of Beckford.

Some players like Duff never shone for us and it just didn't work out. However, some players should have never been sold. I know Parker frustrated some fans but he was a very decent midfielder, never going to set the world on fire but he did a very good job. Bowyer had a cracking second half of the season before he left and then was sold because he wanted to return to London. Similar situations with Jenas, Bellamy, Milner and Given. All very good players who wanted to leave for one reason or another and we simply let them walk away and have never replaced them. There is also the fact that this club has been infamous in previous for rushing players back to fitness. Carr is one player that applies too, Dyer was another. While Luque was utter rubbish you do sometimes wonder if he hadn't been rushed back from his hamstring injury in his first season what would have happened.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/leeds_united/8444552.stm Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford has handed in a transfer request, his agent has told BBC Radio 5 live. Beckford, 26, scored United's goal as they clinched a shock 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in round three of the FA Cup on Sunday. He has been linked with a move away from the League One leaders to Championships side Newcastle. Beckford, who joined the Elland Road outfit from non-League Wealdstone in 2006, is out of contract in the summer.

I've missed the transfer window.

Harper Simpson S.Taylor Colo Enrique R.Taylor Nolan Smith Jonas Carroll Ameobi Can't stand Guthrie on the wing. If Smith isn't fit then replace him with Guthrie.
-
He was fouled for the goal but he still should have done better. Even with the foul he still could have caught that if he'd really gone for it. Also his kicking was awful today.

Went for Newcastle, Cardiff and Man City. £10 returns £26.

Apparently Marlon Harewood is returning from his loan back to his parent club in January, his parent club of course being Nottingham Forest according to the article.
