As has been said, the manager of the club made his plans to do what he wanted, not what you wanted. You haven't taken in anything in this thread from myself, HTL or Chez Given have you ? And I agree with Roeder, I would rather invest 5m quid of the clubs money on Duff than Huth So you would rather waste money on Duff than Huth. bluelaugh.gif bluelaugh.gif

We didn't/don't need defenders. Our defenders are that good that we've got to play our best right sided midfielder in defence and pack the defence with midfielders and play one up front. bluelaugh.gif bluelaugh.gif bluelaugh.gif We correctly spent £5 million (33% of our transfer budget) on a winger who has done nothing since he's been here but he will be good value if he turns out to be as good as he was at Blackburn. bluelaugh.gif bluelaugh.gif bluelaugh.gif

New owners might be good for the club but you'd rather keep Shepherd just to piss somebody off. That's the worst reason I've seen for keeping him so far, well done. jesus wept is all I can say That makes more sense than your original post.
-
that'd be me then :winking: yup btw, what are you going to fill your time with when the new owners don't have to disclose jack shit? I'm sure he'll be able to read a few crap polls on here.

It has been said before.

What are you laughing at? That's as old as the hills, almost.
-
You've got to go in before you can get out so no he's not out.
-
its a good job that doug ellis isnt/wasnt a builder then......... Ellis would have built the house for less and it would of out-performed the house that Fred built more often than not.
-
It looks like it, and Shepherd got the quickest ever design and planning application for the ground extension, brilliant.
-
Obviously.
-
The two results were brilliant but Rob Lee scoring against Chelsea made me feel better, I thought we'd managed to avoid another poor result at Wembley, Poyet's got a lot to answer for.
-
I don't see how people booing while away from the ground can have any effect at all. Beating Watford at home shouldn't be unexpected, Roeder seems to do better when he has fewer choices to make and the team picks itself.

Bollocks. We went from 2nd to near relegation in one season under Dalglish. We stayed in the same position under Gullit. I couldn't stand Dalglish but was all of our slide under him actually down to him? I'm not sure if it was his idea that we should sell Sir Les, he said at the time that he knew nothing about the sale although he could have been talking crap to keep the fans off his back. The slide under Dalglish was massive and the culling of Keegans team was crazy, we just don't know who decided that this should be done, was it to get some cash to pay for Shearer?
-
I went for Keegan leaving because we've never reached those heights since, in reality our current problems stem from the sacking of Sir Bobby, it was a shocking decision both in the timing and the way it was carried out. If anything, he should have been moved upstairs and his knowledge of the game should have been used to our advantage, he should have helped find his successor, I can't think of anybody more qualified to carry out that role. Sir Bobby was probably the first to spot the bloke managing Chelsea and tried to bring him here as his number 2 and future replacement, Shepherd thought that the replacement should be Souness. blueconfused.gif
-
Yes we did, but it hadn't been 30 odd years since our last trophy win so it wasn't such a piss take as it is today, I think we won it in '73 or '74'ish.
-
Shepherd had done very little good for this club, I'll give him the stadium extension that Sir John planned and I'll give him the training facilities, the rest of his handy work is negative. The day he leaves will be a good day for the club, he can go back to his place of birth (which isn't Newcastle) and worry the local sheep population.

What does calling somebody thicker than they thought mean? If I said Einstein was thicker that I thought then it would hardly be abuse as I think he's very clever. It's like saying "I've got less money than I thought", it wouldn't matter if I thought I had £1,000,001 and found out that I had less than I thought because I only had £1,000,000.

It's obvious David, he's always right.

Brings me back to the national ID card, age and IQ profile...... I would like to remind people at this time of year that a Bore is for life and not just for Christmas. bluesleep.gif

What are these Geordie qualities that he talks about? Shepherd isn't even a Geordie, he should stick to embarassing the Cumbrians, not us.
-
Exactly, nobody would buy him this early, let's have another look, we might have missed something.
-
Steve, You should expect me to say that I haven't said Boumsong was class because I've never said it, the lengths you'll go to try and prove a point that doesn't exist is amazing. This isn't a pm, you're making yourself look like an idiot on an open forum. bluebiggrin.gif

Who said Beardsley was "well known nationally"? I mean apart from inside your head, those voices don't count. as you say he was "well known", tell us where he was well known .... backtrack alert ... you must be stupider than I thought if you can't see the crap you are spouting here Actually, for you it's lie alert, anybody who has been unfortunate enough to follow this will know. Show me where I said "well known" without you having to cut bits out.

Back on topic, I'd have him at our club any day, it's a pity that Sir Bobby couldn't have persuaded him to come here when he tried.
