Agreed, both sides come out of this poorly. I feel sorry for the player who I think genuinely had a problem.

Then the club can obviously prove it. I hope that we can because once again we’re left looking like a bunch of amateurs.

I've seen nothing to suggest that we actually informed Senegal what he wouldn't be travelling, even if the club are claiming that they did inform them. If that was the case then they would have sent the proof to FIFA who would have cleared him to play.
  4. £12 million would get an average player and pay for his wages.
  5. f***ing hell. It goes right through our coaching staff, it's frightening that they all think the same way especially when it negative.
  6. I didn't hear it, what I did hear was support for a team who were a goal down.
  7. Our crowd were great today and far better than the performance deserved.

    Alan Pardew

To be honest, it was expected as it's all Pardew knows, hoof the bastard ball to Shola.

Last season we still had Williamson, we had Ryan Taylor and we still had Simpson, and Obertan was getting games, we don't have to go as far back as Bobby.

Pardew is like something out of Jurassic park with his antiquated tactics, it's embarrassing how one dimensional he is.

We've has better performances and better results with poorer players.

I don't want to waste any more time on that. My point is simple: our squad is f***ing s***. Compare the squad with Spurs, including the bench, and see where they finished last season. You are suggesting a "appropriate manager in your mind" can immediately turn us into Man Utd and winning most of the match "more than a margin". I don't know who that one is, and how realistic it is, I'm afraid you can't suggest anyone that would really come and work under Ashley. To me, I totally understand the limitation, and a "appropriate manager in my mind" is the one who can win most of the match marginally and consistently, GIVEN THIS SQUAD. Bassong even couldnt get a game in Spurs and was sold. I f***ing miss him, you know? Our squad is s***? What utter, depressing bollocks. Our squad is s***. Evaluate the bench and other squad rotation players yourself. Don't be cheated by the starting eleven. What do you attribute the starting XI being s*** to? Equally, do you feel the likes of WBA have a great squad? When did we play our starting eleven this season? I can even trim the argument down further. Colo, Tiote, Cabaye, Krul, our most important players, how many games they have been playing together this season? Last season? We have a much better starting eleven than WBA. Then if we take away Colo for Willo, Perch for Cabaye, plues one to two suspension / injuries, would you say it is still a much better squad than WBA, who is now playing Long as a substitute? What about us? Obertan? FFS. And the keeper as well. Harper is a certainty to concede goal now. We cannot live without Krul. What kind of squad depth is this? If you are fuming about the performance and results, put more blame on Ashley not spending his own money please. Pardew has his bad but has been far exaggerated here. The squad is f***ing s***. Fully exposed this season given more matches and injuries. Your excuses are tedious.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I find myself consistently disagreeing with you. So you should, I'm sure he's taking the piss in an attempt to get a bite.
  14. Apart from our shitty formation he made a couple of baffling substitutions.
  15. Remember when bowyer was missing for 12 games and not 6 for not submitting a form. Tiote not having a work permit.
  16. Christ, this club is a joke. They can't even do the basics and inform a country when a player isn't fit.

My problem with him this season, and for quite a bit of last, has been that he's set us up to play a certain way which hasn't worked and he's repeated it time, after time, after time, after time. At least he seems to recognise whatever he's been doing hasn't been working and at least he now claims he'll do something about it. I see that at least as being a change in his stance and hope that his actions back up his words, if they don't then he's an idiot and possibly a lost cause. To recognise a mistake and then repeat it is worse for me and I'm hopeful that it's not going to happen. At the same time, I do know that he talks a good talk. This is a big week for Pardew and for us regardless of the results. You can play brilliantly at times and get done by a sucker goal so I’m looking more at how we go about the game than the result. If we hoof the ball tomorrow against Swansea, he’s an idiot. We’ve got enough injuries and a suspension to justify him changing the way that we play. He could move Ba and tell him that he’s our most important player with Cabaye being out. He could easily go 4-3-3 with Marveaux taking the place of Cabaye as our play maker. If he goes as some have suggested with Tiote, Perch and Anita then we might struggle to make a positive impact because two of those are not creative players and the other is still getting up to speed. I hope we play a 3 man midfield of Tiote, Marveaux and Anita, and a front 3 of Ba left, Cisse central and Ben Arfa of the right. I can see no reason why we can’t do that and have our front 3 changing things around once we’re into the game. He’s claimed that Europe is getting in the way because we have play two different styles with two different teams. The answer to that problem will be seen on Thursday and if he again makes 9 or 10 changes then he’s an idiot, 2 home games should be well within our better players capabilities. Also, I fully believe that the players who got us into Europe deserve to be able to play in the competition. Some of our fans have said that the Europa is a Mickey Mouse competition and that may be true, I can’t remember any of our players having a go about it so they may not feel the same way so let them play. Let our better players build up an understanding with each other from one game to the next. Forget about the opposition and concentrate on what we do as a team as we should be able to carry good play from one game to the next. We don’t need to field two teams a week and it’s clearly not helping our build up to games when we’re doing it. Pardew is a puzzle, he’s played a strong team in the domestic cups against shit opposition when we could have done with playing hungrier and motivated players yet in Europe he’s doing the opposite, why? It doesn’t make the slightest bit of sense to me and it never will.

So what he does isn't important, it's what he's saying. OK. Fair enough. Ah. So it's not what he says. It's what he does. I'm not really sure why you found the need to break up my post like that. Maybe I'm missing something.

  20. The build-up feels like it has a few times in the past when we've been down to the bones and unexpectedly won.
