  1. I doubt all of our current forwards added together will score as many goals as the leagues top scorer this coming season. I'm not sure we'll have a single player who will get into double figures in the league.

    Joey Barton

    Agreed, "Nobby Nolan."
  3. I think the earliest we'll be in a title race will be the season after next.
  4. I'm not sure that we've got the players to play that way and get the points that we would need to be in that position. Our defence was by far our strongest position last season, they'll not stand up to constant pressure against Premiership players.
  5. At this time we've essentially got the same squad that we had last season, these players are going to be up against much better players who can take advantage of the time and space our one paced midfield give them.

    Dan Gosling

I can't understand any Newcastle fan having a problem with this signing.
  7. I have a feeling we'll not be over-hyped so don't worry about that one.
  8. I'm glad that shites finished, now back to normality, oh wait!!!

Like I said, you're writing off a 19 year old forward who hasn't had a bad game, you're a hypocrite.

    New Club Captain

He's at the very back. We can't have a captain who stands on our goal line. We need a runner, a communicator, someone who can bark instructions at the other players. We need a midfielder/attacker as they are always in the play. If we need somebody who can run then that rules out Nolan and Smith.
  12. Venables is only one of two managers of England to play in a tournament on home soil. During his managerial career he won two trophies at Barca, one being the Spanish League Cup and he won an FA Cup with Spurs. He's hardly set the world on fire and I don't know where his reputation comes from. The record of Capello pisses all over the record of Vanables, it's miles better, 14-3 to Capello says it all.
  13. And he did that with one of the best forward lines we've had in Ferdinand, Sheringham, Shearer and Fowler.
  14. I'd stop watching England if either of those two got the managers job, Venables has had the job before and was given a tournament on home soil with a good team and his record isn't as good as the record of Capello.
  15. I'd bring Walcott and the mackem back in.
  16. I also agree with that but I can understand why he went with most of the players that he did.
  17. Did Capello have a reason to move away from those 20 players before they bottled the World Cup? I'm not too sure that he did.
  18. I know you know this but I'll say it again, ability alone is no good so it's pointless mentioning it without having the other attributes which they clearly (based on this WC) don't have.
  19. Results say the opposite.
  20. Heart, spirit and pride are all a part of being a footballer, ability is no good without the others.
  21. I think the players believed the hype which surrounded them. I don't blame the manager for our poor performances, he's being made a scapegoat for the players not being as good as the hype. I hope that he stays and I hope that he guts the squad and starts again from scratch.
  22. I'm sure Billy is right.
  23. That's why I said it was a pity that we hadn't offered him a new contract.
