  1. Was going to try and post Bergkamp without looking at what others had put.

    Dean Ashton

Dean Ashton would be a superb signing for us. We need a bullying striker to lead from the front AND score goals. Him and Martins would be devestating IMO. Can't see hammers letting him go.
  3. I think people are over looking the fact that our defensive problems have not been down to personell. The reason our defence hasn't been great is because of inconsistancy, teamwork and communication. Signing more players won't solve the problem. Although, Brown is a good player.
  4. I don't understand anyones critisism of Enrique. When he's played he's been far from poor, despite not being excellent. Why he's not involved more is baffling, that doesn't mean hes been playing poorly.
  5. NM never tells his opinion anymore he just tries to come across as a soopa fan by being negative. He knows he's not giving his own opinion so please dont humour him.
  6. I voted no. Performances have been very poor but in contrast to Roeder/Souness i've never doubted Allardyces ability as a manager. I have doubted whether he is capable of a massive job such as Newcastle. Since he took over, i think it has weighed up as an average performance from his point of view. When he came in i wanted better players, a better back room structure and better fitness records all of which he has done. However i also wanted better peformances and although we have had our spells we have been poor and inconsistant in most games. People always say its a results buisness, which is true of any buisness but considering the huge task he had when he took over it's not suprising to me that things haven't gone very well on the pitch. The place was in a mess and much in need of stability. In my opinion sacking him now would be defeating he object. I'm not saying that he's a great manager or infact that i believe he will succeed but he should have until the end of the season to show us more. For the record i think Shearer WILL be a good manager for us.
  7. I'm highly pissed of by the way we are playing at the moment, we look disjointed, unconfident and boring. However, sacking the manager will get us nowhere. We need to give this a season, if we want to change things we can do it then.
  8. I'd hate Jol in charge.
  9. Given Beye Taylor Faye N'Zogbia Geremi Emre Milner Duff Viduka Owen
  10. Given Beye Cacapa Taylor N'Zogbia Faye Smith Butt Milner Martins Duff Would be my guess. Three holding midfield players effectively.
  11. I dont think he's signed poor players. He just uses them wrong.
  12. Why would Sam play Milner on the right when he just said he wasn't a right winger? Why would he drop Butt for Smith and Geremi? Why would he drop Cacapa when he rates him so highly? All good questions. Someone else posted the supposed starting line up. So you answer your questions.
  13. Given Beye Taylor Faye N'Zogbia Smith Geremi Emre Milner Viduka Duff If that is the team i would be happy. It has a nice blend of passers and attacking threat.

    Obafemi Martins

For me Martins is what he is, an quick striker with a very good snap shot. Given consistant games he will get 15 goals no bother. Our problem is that we fanny about playing him in different positions that dont suit his qualities.
  15. Would like... Given Beye Faye Cacapa Enrique Geremi Barton Milner N'Zogbia Viduka Owen
  16. Can't argue that with Emre he gives us hope that we may score something out of nothing but i think Emre has suited 433 in the past, something which i wouldn't want.
  17. Over the last couple of weeks all i've heard about our midfield is that Barton, Butt or Geremi should be dropped to accommodate Emre. The reason for this sort of comment is because Emre comes off the bench and fires on all cylinders and is generally a fan favourite because of his style. However, when was the last time you saw Emre give a good midfield performance, when he has started the game? If there are many, then they are few and far between. I believe this to be down to Emre being a confidence player. When he comes off the bench he is obviously sparked by the fans apprieciation to the switch and gives a better performance. Another example was on his debut when he had alot of hype around him and he gave a cracking performance. When Emre starts he rarely "domintates" the midfield. In contrast i think he can be sloppy and average (with the odd bit of genious). I'm not claiming that Emre is a poor footballer at all, he is probably the most gifted player at the club technically but mentally he doesn't seem to cut it. I dont particularly believe Geremi, Butt or Barton have been good but i believe people need to rethink the opinion that Emre will make much of a difference. Role on january.......
  18. This. Bullshit the midfield were the last to just about every ball, we were awful in the middle of the park Aweful yet we had far more shots on goal. Your ridiculas.
  19. Emre doesn't play half as well from the start as he does as a sub but i'm sure that will be over looked.
  20. Had a good 20 mins. more more more
  21. Absolutely, typical Jewell side. Hard working and not afraid to attack. It was a poor result but far from a poor overall performance.
