  1. More importantly, we might have to double his wages in 12 months time, in order to fend off interest.
  2. We have shored up the defence, even without Trippier we are half decent and we almost certain to sign at least one CB in the summer. So with that in mind and our chronic lack of goals/creativity at times, I'd certainly think I'd rather stick with Bruno and Shelvey as our DM options and go after Paqueta who will give us a spark. Interesting to see what Howe thinks.
  3. The question isn't about whether Paqueta is good enough. Not only has the guy got skills but he's also a bit of a unit. The real question is two fold: 1. Do we see Bruno as a DM or a CM? 2. If we don't see Bruno as a DM, do we prioritise that position over a CM/AM like Paqueta? Or, we could do as I suggested; try to sign Paqueta and see if there is someone short term who we could sign to do a job for a couple of years in defensive midfield. Then the question begs itself, if we have Bruno and Shelvey who can play the DM role, do we need to prioritise that position at all next season?
  4. That's why I said if we could get the deal done for Abraham. I reckon he might go for 45m and Toney more like 35m. I highly doubt we ever put a bid of 50m for Nunez and there is already talk of us looking elsewhere, although we might be playing a game ourselves. Hey look, I'd be pleasantly surprised and one things for sure, we won't be penny pinching. If we decide against a target, we will move quickly for the next one.
  5. I'm know I'm repeating myself, but I expect Howe to take the safe option on a striker. It will be Toney IMO or Tammy Abraham if we could get the deal done. We will take moderate risks in other areas but we won't be spending 50m+ on striker from abroad, who hasn't got PL experience. It would be different if someone like Nunez was 40m, they might do that deal but the second we get fucked around on prices we will take safer options IMO. I'd be very surprised to see us spend more than 50m on one player. 3×30m players I could see.
  6. In a scenario where we decide not to pursue a top quality goalkeeper but still need to sign someone experienced for back up, to replace Darlow.... Fraser Forster or Tim Krul homecoming or Ben Forster, just for the Fozcast.
  7. Like someone said, Burnley are full of confidence, which is key.
  8. I hope we make a really big effort with the atmosphere. This needs to be Wor Flags finest hour.
  9. Eddie needs to think outside the box. 532 Dubravka Schar Lascelles Burn Manquillo Targett Bruno Shelvey Joelinton ASM Wood
  10. Carragher can get in the bin.
  11. If we get priced out of our top targets in DM, because clubs want to fleece us.... I wouldn't turn my nose up at a smart move for someone like Romeu, who's 30 and onto the last year of his Southampton contract. Let's say we could get him for 12m ala Trippier, that would keep our powder dry for another position.
  12. Yeah we won't be jumping from 100k to 200k in one swoop because then immediately Bruno is going to want the same and rightly so.
  13. I just think that we have suddenly become one of the most attractive clubs in world football. Apart from the top 6, who's players wages will make them unattractive to us, and perhaps West Ham, I just fancy us to be able to unsettle any player from any club in the summer. It's going to be incredibly difficult for the likes of Brighton, Leeds and Southampton to fend us off. Most of our business will be done overseas, but I expect us to sign at least one big hitter from the PL, Phillips or Toney being the obvious names.
  14. Yeah he puts back spin on his through balls, in order for it slow up for the guy running onto it. A great example is his assist for Miggy. He cut the ball in half, on the volley. Beautiful, beautiful man.
  15. Allcott is class. Puts to shame Sky etc analysis.
  16. I don't know what to think any more. Originally I thought that we can't stifle this lad by playing him DM, after the way he has performed the last few games but he was arguably even more effective as a DM today. I'm starting to think signing a Paqueta to play the Willock role might well be a killer, especially since Jonjo is comfortable in the DM role, if needed. Bruno is not only class but he's versatile too. Unreal.
  17. Like I say, we get beat and we can shrug our shoulders somewhat. We get a result and we send shockwaves.
  18. How great is this. This match basically means fuck all to us and everything to them. We are full on confidence. If anyone can beat them right now, it's us.
  19. I'd like to correct my error. I said Bruno had 2 key passes. He's actually had 3, as Murphy missed the first chance.
  20. There's times when ASM isn't running at his full back, which is very unlike him.
  21. Longstaff has been fine... considering its his first start in an age.
  22. His value to us will be in his versatility. He's also slowly racking up his goal scoring. He doesn't need to score 20 goals a season for us. He should set himself a modest target of 8-10.
  23. 2 key passes from Bruno= 2 Goals.
