  1. I would have thought that was obvious. Who would the source have to be to make people happier? Masters himself?
  2. Perhaps his source gets his info from the training ground which has been shut
  3. I did a podcast with someone the other day who turned out to be a Newcastle fan. He set up backpardew.com "for a laugh" during the height of the Sack Pardew days. It's a small, silly world.
  4. There’s bound to be some centre mid desperate to try and get regular football before Euro 2021. Desperation and short term commitment is right up our street
  5. I think the official line is that PIF are out. That was the last we heard from them. Whether that changes if/when the PL are exposed remains to be seen but everybody seems to think they would be back.
  6. It’s hardly the most far fetched thing is it? The players are reportedly unhappy, the owner is trying to sell the club and the January window is imminent. If Lascelles has gone to MA about what a shitshow it all is and the better players force moves in January it all goes to s***.
  7. To be honest if it wasn't for Mimms I wouldn't have given any of the fan consortium stuff the time of day. It's the type of thing we'd normally laugh at
  8. JOIN THE DOTS Ant & Dec retweet the fans legal action Rafa tags Ant & Dec watching I'm a celebrity tonight. Ant & Dec making jokes at Bruce expense. Mimms saying the new owners want Bruce out asap.

This was definitely the game for me. I got asked to write about the worst loss and chose this one https://thatsliquidfootball.com/2020/04/08/losing-my-favourite-game-fenton-fenton-oh-jesus-christ-with-dave-black/
  10. It got as far as being reported on the BBC Website I remember. That was a mental summer for things not happening
  11. If yesterday was the endgame, what exactly has been achieved? It's so frustrating not knowing what's actually going on. I don't think you have to be a wild optimist to believe that the takeover has been unfairly blocked and therefore still stands a very reasonable chance of being approved: the reasons given for the PL's indecision were dubious with a hint of corruption; we know that the consortium hasn't completely disengaged; and we know that Ashley is desperate to leave, with major lawyers fighting the corner. But still so much of everything is guesswork and speculation with no means of knowing what progress is actually being made, or what the most likely outcome is. We could wake up tomorrow with either a takeover confirmation or another bombshell like the one in July. It's absolutely painful. I don’t know if it’s any more complicated than “do you really want this to go to court?” and the PL eventually caving. There’s not really a way to enforce it going through
  12. I don’t think anybody expects the fan based legal action to get anywhere, it was all just a setup to get to where we got yesterday. Unless I’m joining the dots wrong
  13. Be a right kick in the tits if the QC reads it and says it’s actually all above board
  14. The sources can have all the confidence going but it’s pretty much out of the buyers’ hands. It’s the PL that need convincing and if you had Di Marco fighting your corner, wouldn’t you be confident?
  15. On this cab rank rule, surely the caveat here is that you have to be able to afford said “cab”?
  16. That the one on “France day”? Would have been ruled out for offside in the VAR world, probably would have caused a riot.
  17. They’re saying it’s not too serious but given his history I’ll be surprised if he plays on Friday. Even when healthy last season he wouldn’t play twice in a week.
  18. First half was so tedious, thankfully the second half we were more positive. Having a striker that actually wants to score goals helps. Joelinton doesn't have that instinct and if he'd been on the pitch for that second goal he'd have watched it go out for a corner. Ironically the system today probably would have suited him playing off Wilson but Bruce hasn't got a clue how to get the best out of a pretty decent set of players. I know ASM wants to play number 10 but he's not very good at it. Maybe he would be in another team but he's totally ineffective there. Fraser came on and did more of what I'd expect - running channels, dragging defenders out of position - maybe unfair to make a straight comparison as Fraser was up against tired legs but I was impressed by him, we should definitely be able to get ASM, Fraser and Almiron in the team behind Wilson and not in the way we did at Wolves last week. Almiron is so underappreciated it's crazy. He covers so much ground and is being nullified by an idiot. Didn't see Bruce shake his hand when he came off but I might be reading too much into that. I'd love to see how he would have developed if Rafa was still here. Fernandez is our best centre hald by a mile, though all three were decent today. Murphy has been very good too, even if we've seen basically nothing of him going forward bar the free kick last week. I think this was Lewis' best game for us as well after an underwhelming start. Darlow was fine after a ridiculous start with his distribution. He was horrific in his last run at PL level so well done for being better. Hendrick was fine if unspectacular and Longstaff did pretty well but was absolutely gassed by about 75 minutes. We were lucky Everton were short of 4 key players, they were very average without them.
  19. I hadn’t checked the thread at all since last night and logged on today to doom and gloom. Scrolled back through expecting bad news from Mimms but no, nothing has happened except a load of people on Twitter arguing. The kit deal has people worried and the lack of any progress but I think it’s patience that’s needed
  20. I’m sure Shell knows what she’s talking about but does she know more than a QC? Seems unlikely (assuming the QC is legit)
