  1. If yesterday was the endgame, what exactly has been achieved? It's so frustrating not knowing what's actually going on. I don't think you have to be a wild optimist to believe that the takeover has been unfairly blocked and therefore still stands a very reasonable chance of being approved: the reasons given for the PL's indecision were dubious with a hint of corruption; we know that the consortium hasn't completely disengaged; and we know that Ashley is desperate to leave, with major lawyers fighting the corner. But still so much of everything is guesswork and speculation with no means of knowing what progress is actually being made, or what the most likely outcome is. We could wake up tomorrow with either a takeover confirmation or another bombshell like the one in July. It's absolutely painful. I don’t know if it’s any more complicated than “do you really want this to go to court?” and the PL eventually caving. There’s not really a way to enforce it going through
  2. I don’t think anybody expects the fan based legal action to get anywhere, it was all just a setup to get to where we got yesterday. Unless I’m joining the dots wrong
  3. Be a right kick in the tits if the QC reads it and says it’s actually all above board
  4. The sources can have all the confidence going but it’s pretty much out of the buyers’ hands. It’s the PL that need convincing and if you had Di Marco fighting your corner, wouldn’t you be confident?
  5. On this cab rank rule, surely the caveat here is that you have to be able to afford said “cab”?
  6. That the one on “France day”? Would have been ruled out for offside in the VAR world, probably would have caused a riot.
  7. They’re saying it’s not too serious but given his history I’ll be surprised if he plays on Friday. Even when healthy last season he wouldn’t play twice in a week.
  8. First half was so tedious, thankfully the second half we were more positive. Having a striker that actually wants to score goals helps. Joelinton doesn't have that instinct and if he'd been on the pitch for that second goal he'd have watched it go out for a corner. Ironically the system today probably would have suited him playing off Wilson but Bruce hasn't got a clue how to get the best out of a pretty decent set of players. I know ASM wants to play number 10 but he's not very good at it. Maybe he would be in another team but he's totally ineffective there. Fraser came on and did more of what I'd expect - running channels, dragging defenders out of position - maybe unfair to make a straight comparison as Fraser was up against tired legs but I was impressed by him, we should definitely be able to get ASM, Fraser and Almiron in the team behind Wilson and not in the way we did at Wolves last week. Almiron is so underappreciated it's crazy. He covers so much ground and is being nullified by an idiot. Didn't see Bruce shake his hand when he came off but I might be reading too much into that. I'd love to see how he would have developed if Rafa was still here. Fernandez is our best centre hald by a mile, though all three were decent today. Murphy has been very good too, even if we've seen basically nothing of him going forward bar the free kick last week. I think this was Lewis' best game for us as well after an underwhelming start. Darlow was fine after a ridiculous start with his distribution. He was horrific in his last run at PL level so well done for being better. Hendrick was fine if unspectacular and Longstaff did pretty well but was absolutely gassed by about 75 minutes. We were lucky Everton were short of 4 key players, they were very average without them.
  9. I hadn’t checked the thread at all since last night and logged on today to doom and gloom. Scrolled back through expecting bad news from Mimms but no, nothing has happened except a load of people on Twitter arguing. The kit deal has people worried and the lack of any progress but I think it’s patience that’s needed
  10. I’m sure Shell knows what she’s talking about but does she know more than a QC? Seems unlikely (assuming the QC is legit)
  11. Well one likes to break legs and the other basically said he hates playing football
  12. It's so far back I don't want to check but did he predict good news in a couple of weeks. I know he predicted a statement, now, and something about a few weeks. But there is no way anybody can know that the outcome in a few weeks will be good. A selection of mimms recent posts. Progress I mentioned is due to a different direction that the lawyers have explored/exploited. Last thing I’m saying on here. Been told there will be another statement this week. It maybe a few weeks before the champagne gets opened, but there will be positive news coming out more and more in the next few days then in the next few weeks. Not completed yet but everything is going into the final stages. Didn't think of looking at his posts. I'm still dubious as to whether anybody can be certain about the outcome. I guess they can't be certain but if the king of Lawyers is involved it's probably like doing a test where you have been given all the answers. If he's looked at the case, looked at the law and thinks we have a case, confidence must be pretty high.
  13. The same guy who said the statement was coming said it might be a few weeks until completion. The statement (of sorts) has arrived, so why would you choose ignore the rest of what he’s said?
  14. Considering it went through about 5 of our lads he can probably be forgiven. He's been way better than I thought he would be given his previous run in the team at PL level.
  15. Ashley17

    Jeff Hendrick

He looks every bit like a free transfer from Burnley.

    Jacob Murphy

Seems like one of the few times we've loaned somebody out and actually brought them back into the team. It's been bad timing for him, he signed when Rafa wasn't getting much money to spend yet we spent £12m on him and he was nowhere near ready for Premier League football. I love that he researched Patricio on free kicks, not sure if that's the done thing or not but fair play, ultimately got us a point.
  17. Someone was slagging off his half time comments in this thread which I disagreed with, I thought he was pretty much on the money. Dyer was a pretty decent pundit IMO, didn't shy away from giving his opinion, and spoke well for the most part. I know a significant number of our fans hated him when he was here because he was perceived as arrogant, but he was a big part of one the best NUFC teams I had the privilege to watch. It's clear he got some bad medical advice when he was here which isn't really his fault. Though having read his book he didn't exactly always put football first and didn't seem to grasp that effected people's perception of him. Agree though we were usually a better team with him in it, he was good in midfield but Souness playing him as a second striker took him on a level.
  18. If Mimms was on the wind up he would be a lot more “look at me” than he is. Just take it or leave it, if you don’t want to believe it that’s up to you
