  1. I’m pleased with the signings in so much that it’ll give us a chance to stay in the premier league and hopefully one day out the blue a takeover will happen. Other than that I’m not that bothered This is basically where I'm at. They are good signings so let's call them as such, on the plus side if it goes to shit it's all on Bruce. Fans stood by Rafa when we were poor because they understood the situation he was put in. Bruce has been able to hand pick his targets and spend what looks like at least £35m on them.

    Jamal Lewis

He’s very good. I’m surprised we’re in for him given Liverpool wanted him a few weeks back
  3. I guess all that’s left to do is sit back and watch journalists fight over why the Trust (or the PL?) gave the Chronicle early access to the minutes
  4. Everything about this is insane. I don’t know if it’s fake as in entirely made up but it definitely screams publicity stunt on their behalf.
  5. Last year of his contract might have something to do with it?
  6. In that single post on Twitter you can see why everyone is so fucked off. Firstly it’s a statement with emoji. Nobody really knows what it means. Somebody asks geordiedentist. What does he make of it? No idea but says it’s interesting. That implies you have at least some idea. Just say nothing. Some fan asks the original poster if it’s linked to the takeover. OP says he thinks stuff is still ongoing behind the scenes. Fan says he doubts it. Why ask then, your mind is clearly made up. Another fan says it means nothing, walk away and move on. Yep, just like you have replying to this nonsense. Final reply is a Richard Masters parody account Fucking bring on Chopra and the biscuit lads
  7. I just don’t get what Staveley was hoping for when she knew all of this. Did she want the PL to spill the beans to cover her own back? We could have had a million people sign the petition but if the main people with the funds aren’t playing ball it’s a massive waste of time
  8. Poor Rocker can’t even get pissed anymore without assumption he has good news
  9. Are the people who keep coming in here to post “it’s over” hoping to be able to say I told you so? There’s a huge mix of positive and negative stories at the minute, why you’d choose to believe one side or the other at this stage is beyond me. Just let it play out.

    Alan Shearer

    What a ludicrous assessment
  11. I think anyone on here who has met Rocker will tell you the same thing. Like a rock and roll Ned Flanders, he's as honest as the day is long.
  12. So to recap today: There’s a fan dossing around outside the PL Office Michael Chopra says it’s back on The Reuben’s are still in Just a normal day then
  13. Creasing at the video where the PL bloke is panicking and he goes to get security, who turns out to be a real life Michael from Alan Partridge. Next video he’s in reception
  14. I want this to happen as much as the next fan (obviously excluding Sean) but I just feel it's at a dead end. The Premier League might come out tomorrow and give valid reasons why it hasn't proceeded, let's be honest all the potential problems have been discussed at length over the past 3 months. Then what happens?
  15. The only thing that makes me think this is a hail Mary type play is that the announcement had barely happened and she'd done interviews with at least three places. It seems to me they've set their stall out to heap the pressure on the PL.
  16. Caulkin has an interview with Staveley and that fellow who is on Twitter, he’s just accidentally tweeted it. Assume it’s meant to be in drafts for the morning. I don’t have the Athletic subscription so dunno if it’s a rehash of the earlier article
  17. So from this do we think Ashley has asked for another payment to extend the exclusivity? And if that was say £50m, that effectively means they'd have spent £67m without any guarantee of the PL making a decision in their favour so they've thought fuck that?
  18. When “our guests at Collingwood Insurance” used to decide man of the match Steven Taylor and James Milner would beat even Messi
  19. I read the BBC article as Bin Salman was originally going to be the decision maker but when that was a problem (they couldn't sufficiently prove he wasn't connected to the government) they raised that as a red flag and now they need to find somebody who doesn't cause a red flag. Presumably all candidates will have their business links which can be conflicts of interest and are difficult to get out of - wasn't there some talk about one the board being linked to a Man Utd sponsor? There's probably all sorts of that.
  20. Basically the PL won’t reject it they’ll just say if you do xyz we can approve it. It’s not in their interests to reject it with all the potential ramifications but as there’s no timescale, they don’t have to say or do anything whilst PIF try and jump through these hoops. Meanwhile there are so many conflicts of interest over potential decision makers this is where the gridlocked bit comes in. Until they can break certain links to companies involved elsewhere, which may take time or be costly, it cannot progress. Everyone is jumping on “the Premier League has to say something!!” but the reality is they don’t. It’s an entirely private matter and if the PLs stance is that PIF need to sort themselves out then don’t be suryif there are more like Edwards who try to turn the fans against them.
  21. I am resigned to it not happening now, I also don’t think there will be any announcement one way or the other.
