Let’s be honest if they don’t go up they should have a great time next year. If their owner puts in even a small amount they’ll attract the best League One can offer, they’ll piss the league and enjoy some of their horrific away day banter with fans allowed back in stadiums.

I like him, he's been one of the few bright spots recently. Definitely better as an impact sub against tired legs but he is getting quite adept at finding a way to the byline. He'll probably look better when he's got Wilson to pick out rather than Gayle/Joelinton. Obviously his progress is always going to be hindered by the "coaching" team but we have far bigger problems than him.

No Pope for them

Think of it long term. It’s not going to happen under Ashley but let’s say Staveley and co own us, I could see them selling a tiny percentage. I imagine any new owner would do the same as it’s getting the fans onside immediately. A lot of people think we will go down and not come back. The value of the club will plummet and eventually Ashley will leave. By then the Trust could be in a position to own or part own the club. If the mackems (and various other clubs) had done this they would have been in a position to do something when their club was on its knees. It’s safeguarding, if we get taken over by someone filthy rich it won’t matter and it’ll go to charity anyway. Don’t misconstrue this as the trust trying to buy the club tomorrow.

Alex is great, he always comes across well and on a personal level has been very supportive and helpful with a few bits of writing I've done on NUFC. I have a fair idea what Thursday will be and I suspect it will divide opinion between "what's the point" and "good for them" which is basically the same as every discussion involving the Trust on here.

We must be the only club where the players who don’t go on International duty don’t train and still get injured

Players under contract have more value. Players with value means the club is worth more, almost as if Ashley is preparing for a potential renegotiation of price. All businesses do this, usually it would be customers signing new contracts to secure the value. Not everything is a massive disaster

I tried to think of the reasons Ashley would stick with Bruce (https://cfbfootball.com/2021/03/22/dave-black-why-stick-with-steve-bruce-5-potential-reasons-why/amp/?__twitter_impression=true) and using Ashley logic, the two times he has changed the manager we have been relegated. He stuck to his guns over Pardew and Carver and we ultimately survived. Ignore things like the improvement under Benitez and the probability that had he changed manager sooner we might have survived, in Ashley’s mind not doing anything works

It’s a sham of a club, even the fucking team news is leaked by about 5 different people. Everyone knows who the mole is except Bruce and his pals

Frankly having their name on that trophy as a constant reminder of the level they are at topped off with the winning goal being scored by a player called Gooch is all quite hilarious

So basically we wanted the chairman of the arbitration panel removed which has been denied. They do however have to release the findings in public although the key personnel will be kept anonymous, so shouldn’t be any shenanigans. I still don’t see how we can win here if it’s all down to the director issue

I don't know like, we live in a world where that loveable Jimmy Bullard got called up to the England squad by the hugely successful Fabio Capello and he spent the week shouting POSTMAN PAT in his face for a laugh. Stupid fucker.

Aye you’ve got until the deadline to fuck about with it and transfer in Wilson or something

Why not put in Richarlison over DCL if he’s going to play twice and DCL might play once?

Benched Gudogan which is going to cost me. My grip on top spot is slipping!

Almiron was so good today. He has been for a few games now, no player sums up Bruce's lack of brains than the way he's played Miggy. When you think under Rafa (and by all accounts his career before he moved here) all of his good work had come from the left or centre of the pitch, he's spent a disgusting amount of time playing on the right or even ludicrously as a second striker when idiot boy took charge. This system is ideal for him to be a nuisance but also keep us moving in the final third. Having ASM to pass to will obviously help, he looked back to near his best first half today. He's borderline unplayable when he gets going and having willing runners like Almiron and Willock will help him. It is nice actually looking forward to seeing us try and play football. I think we'd all agree that with the players we've got, all we've wanted is the team to be let off the leash a bit without being an absolute state at the back. Jones has managed to do that in a couple of weeks, imagine what a really good manager could do with a whole pre-season? On the negative side, Hendrick remains a waste of skin and surely will be the one to drop out for Willock when everybody is back. I didn't think Shelvey was as bad today but he didn't have to cross halfway in the second half so he probably wasn't as knackered as usual. Matty Longstaff in particular must feel hard done by to be nowhere near the team, I didn't think he did that much wrong when he got back in the side. Sean has been very poor for a while now but Matty surely must be worth a space on the bench. Special mention to Dummett who came on having barely played for a year and found himself in the perfect position several times. He's a better centre back than a left back for me but I imagine that'll be put to the test over the next few weeks as we're rapidly running out.

72 for me this week with Son still playing. I have Bamford (15) and Lewis (11) on the bench though which is annoying.

I remember him being booed off at home to Norwich, obviously not helped by us being behind and him trudging off. It was only once we got forced to playing him in DM (with Saivet) away at West Ham when he became a machine
-
Isn’t that why Lascelles lamped him in training? He was much better after that

Rafa bought us a squad of players to get us promoted, which he achieved. He had been given assurances he could move them on to buy better but that never materialised because of the owner. Fair enough, he signed some stinkers but who doesn’t? Sels was a Belgian international but atrocious for us. Lazaar was barely used but showed nothing of use. Murphy is still developing but yes we probably could have used that money better elsewhere. The likes of Joselu etc were the best we could get for basically peanuts

We should absolutely all send him a letter
