  1. lol hows he not scored not 4?? i'd have put my house on him scoring there, clean through with keeper to beat.
  2. aye but be fair, 8 barce players plus me,you and alan smith would still be enough to see off most. At least we wouldn't be the weak link in that side. In fact, yeah, Valdes aside, seems to be full-strength. aye but be fair, 8 barce players plus me,you and alan smith would still be enough to see off most. Didn't think they'd play Xavi, Messi and Villa in the cup games.

    Sebastian Larsson

you forgot Routledge and i don't think there's much between him and Jonas either.
  4. i think carroll is lying on his sunbed recharging his batteries and is definately playing on Sunday or he has a serious problem that will keep him out for 6-8wk period. If he was borderline to play on Sunday like Pardew is making out then he'd have been on the treatment table for the last week getting extensive treatment to try and get him fit for the match.
  5. when is the result of the appeal meant to be, i must've spent all afternoon at work today checking here, .com, skysports, bbc etc then i leave work, nowt on radio, been out and about come in and still nothing!!! The suspense is killing me even though i know deep down that the FA won't rescind it.
  6. Wish we could get Andy Townsend on the appeal committee, normally think he's a knob but just done a good piece on Tiote, Gerrard, the rafael/meireles tackle and then the mackie/givet tackle which sadly resulted in a double fracture for mackie.

    Sunderland...

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=556273 lol 2nd reply is quality!!
  8. will appealing and losing the appeal mean the FA add another game on meaning a 4 game ban. Its a nightmare that he's set to miss huge games against mackems, Spurs, Fulham but would be even worse to then miss the Arsenal home game as well.
  9. Peter Mallinger, former director and NUFC vice president has died in hospital aged 75, had been suffering with leukemia. He was the person who help fund the transfer of Andy Cole back in 1993.
  10. i don't want us to lose, i'm going down to the match and want to see the team put on a decent show and win but i think we can beat Stevenage without having to play the likes of Jose, Nolan and Coloccini.
  11. Exactly, this season is all about staying up, a weakened side should still be good enough to beat Stevenage and ideally we can get an easy run and find ourselves in a couple of months time in the quarters and looking safe, if thats happens then i'll happily take the competition seriously! winning tomorrow and progressing into round 4 gets us £67k, if we were to go all the way and win the cup we'd get about £3m. An 8th place finish in 2008 years ago in the PL got £9.4m, with the new deal i'd reckon about 13th or 14th could get that now, maybe even lower.
  12. Jose has a history of hamstring trouble, already flared up over the xmas period, why risk him in a pretty pointless game when we have massive games in the next few weeks including the biggest game of the season next week
  13. Agreed, would be better sending him for some r&r in Dubai with AC or a few days back in Spain.
  14. Got a horrible feeling Pardew is going to play Colo, jose, Nolan and barton.

    Sunderland...

Would be quite happy to see Muntari play next week, maybe even Sessegnon although i have to say i've never seen him play. Can't see Muntari's match fitness being that good, i might be wrong but don't think he's been playing every week for Inter and they don't have reserve teams in Italy(or didn't used to) and a highly charged derby game played at 100mph isn't really a game to be thrown into if your not fully fit.
  16. I saw Whelan a few times last season for Stoke and thought he looked good and he was excellent in a game for the republic of ireland in another game i saw. Don't know if he's been injured but doesn't seem to have featured much this season. He wouldn't be a bad signing, would be decent squad player and would offer more than Smith or Guthrie.
  17. One player i wouldn't even be thinking of been in the team is Jose, already missed the spurs game over the festve period with a hamstring tweak, with his history of hamstring injuries i would be telling him to put his feet up for a few days, in fact i'd have even offer him the chance to go back to Spain for a few days.

    aston villa

Because we were there - wrong place, wrong time. I don't see why people are getting their knickers in a twist over it. We'll probably do it to WBA if we send them down on the last day this year. i'm guessing by that comment you weren't at Villa Park that day?
  19. Thought he was a good coach when he was with England U21's but seems to have struggled when being a manager. Hopefully he'll come here and do well by falling into the category of good coach/poor manager.
  20. i've always had it in my head that he'll be back for the mackems, miss the wigan and west ham game, to be honest i don't think he would ever have played against Stevenage even if he was fit and expect him to be raring to go for the stadium of light.
  21. true but it was good that he didn't let it effect him and he played very well, lead the line well, held the ball up and got the winner. Pretty much everything you would have wanted your centre forward to do.

    Who IS in trouble?

Would put the next 2 games as must not LOSE rather than must win. In saying that we need to be looking at maximum points in the home games against West Ham, Wolves, West Brom and Birmingham. I would then expext us to scrape enough points to survive from the games against Sunderland, Everton, Bolton, Fulham, Blackpool, Blackburn and Wigan Not expecting much from Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Stoke, Liverpool and Spurs
  23. Why?? he's not match fit, surely its better to have someone on the bench who can do a job, what happens if we get two midfielders injured in the first 15 mins, no way could he come on and play for 60-75 mins. Give him another weeks training and couple of practice games now the weather is improving and give him a game in the cup next week.
  24. i was wondering that, i was at my dads a few days ago and he was watching some match on sky and i thought the commentator had said something along those lines, as usual though he was oblivious and didn't hear anything so couldn't confirm it. Its good news for the likes of Barton and Carroll but still bad for Tiote, he's 2 yellows from a 2 game ban. If he gets them in the next 2 games he'll miss the mackems.
  25. Could the nippy goal poacher that we need to play alongside Carroll be......DJ Campbell.
