  1. Wullie your spot on and we were saying the same thing in the pub after the game yesterday, the two wins have come on the back of SJP being like a bearpit roaring on the players and getting stuck into the opposition, we wanted revenge on Villa and obviously the mackem game always gets the crowd up. The other home games have seen the moaners and groaners heard with fans getting on the backs of players when passes go astray etc. Teams like Wigan and Blackpool would get blown away with a Sunderland type atmosphere in my opinion and if we had the angry "bearpit" every week i doubt we'd see many defeats. I'm still shocked that the team got booed off yesterday, yes we didn't win but you couldn't fault the desire, effort and application of the players, we just lacked the bit of guile, luck, skill needed to break down well marshalled defence.
  2. What an incredible thing to say. You should be proud that our #9, and a local lad to boot, could be leading the line for England. sorry but i couldn't give a monkeys about England, especially a pointless friendly and am only concerned in Carroll being in good form for NUFC.
  3. More cracking insight from Ronaldo the supafan. Routledge and Xisco, for crying out loud.
  4. i hope Carroll doesn't get picked for England next week, i want him fighting fit for NUFC and the amount of work he's put in so far this season, especially in the last few games, plus he took a bit of a battering off Samba last night and will get another one of Hangeland so i would personally like him with his feet up recharging his batteries. Wouldn't actually mind him having a stormer on Saturday, scoring 2 or 3 goals but getting a slight knock, nothing too serious just enough to stop him playing midweek but being fit for Bolton.
  5. Raylor? Are you for real? Time to give that Spanish gay guy Xisco a chance? if i was picking someone to play on the right for Newcastle i would pick Raylor on one leg before even considering Xisco.
  6. i'd freshen up the side a bit, give Sol a game in place of Williamson, play Raylor on the right instead of Barton, would go for that option rather than Routledge as he can put better crosses in, similar types of whipped in balls that Barton put in against West Ham. Up front i'd be tempted to give Ranger a game with Shola struggling although could see Nolan pushed up and Guthrie in the middle.
  7. They probably wouldn't but just think he'd do a good job in our side.
  8. Yep, we should be tying down key players to long-term deals now. Coloccini will probably be more than happy enough finishing his career here, so make it happen big Mike. would he be prepared to take a huge pay cut though? there's no way his new deal would be the £80k a week he's rumoured to be on now. He'd be offered half of that. Same with Barton, he's been talking about how he's loving it here now and playing his best football but if he wants to stay he's going to have to take a paycut as well.
  9. Yeah, cos Bolton will happily sell him. Seriously people? We missed the boat on him bigtime. Should have been in for him while he was banging them in for my local club over here and was willing to go for peanuts to any Prem club that would have him. If he moves at all it'll be to one of the 4th~8th place clubs. i've just mentioned him in another thread, think he is a cracking player and would fit in our style well and i would love us to sign him. Biggest problem would be getting Bolton to sell though. The bonus of getting him would also be the extra money we could make on the merchandise side of things over in Asia and the far east.
  10. i'd rather bring barton inside and routledge out wide. id rather bring barton inside, selll routledge and bring Chung-yong Lee in to play on the right. Cracking player and the club can rake in the money in the far east off the back of him
  11. injuries and suspensios are always going to happen the key is to get lucky and have no serious ones or a clutch of them to various players at the same time, one player in or out we can live with, lose 3 or 4 at the same time and we'd struggle.(then again so would most teams) Barton and Tiote are both on 4 yellows would be a nightmare if say they got booked against Blackburn and we went into the Fulham game without both.

    Sunderland...

can't remember exactly but think it was something to do with his illness.
  13. no need to rest players, get them to give us one big effort in these 2 up coming games and then England play midweek. We don't have many players on international duty, give the players 4 days off after Fulham to recharge their batteries and then get set for Bolton. Out of the team that played yesterday only Krul has been called up so far. Tiote will probably get called up and good chance Carroll will but the rest can have a few days off.
  14. praising the back 4 but Colo who was the best of the bunch doesn't get a mention!!
  15. we've got a terrible record against both Blackburn and Fulham in recent years at SJP. Blackburn have won the last 4!!
  16. Awesome performance again today, just a pity about the joke of a yellow card that now has him on the brink of suspension. Looking at our upcoming fixtures i think it wouldn't be a bad thing for him to get booked on Wednesday(can't see him going 4,5,6 matches without gettting a card with refs these days) as i'd prefer him to be missing at home to Fulham than be missing against Bolton, Chelsea, WBA or Liverpool.
  17. thats class, anyone know who's playing or what country that game is from?

    Sunderland...

Horswill has been a total cock for weeks, keeps going on about how we haven't played anyone and we couldn't beat Blackpool etc Sunderland got hammered off us, beat off West Brom, only drew with Wigan, i watched that mackems play Liverpool and it was the worst game of football i've seen Liverpool play and they still couldn't beat them. He needs to be worried about Blackpool, they've beaten us, WBA, Wigan and Liverpool. Sunderland have played most of the top teams and you can't deny that they've done pretty well, i'll be delighted if we are unbeaten against Man U, Arsenal and Man City at home and get a point at Anfield but it has been pretty negative with 5 in midfield and Bent up front on his own and yes they may only have lost once before Sunday but they forget to mention that the 2 wins were flukes, battered for 90 mins against Man City, Tevez missing open goals and the City team firing blanks before the mackems get a injury time pen. Villa also went to the Sos and battered them and the mackems sneak the win with an OG. They were also saved against Arsenal when Rosicky missed a penalty at the death.
  19. whats the difference between Andy Carroll and the Sunderland back 4?? the sunderland back 4 can't live with Kevin Nolan!! i'll get my coat......

    Sunderland...

The latest games to be put on sky and Espn have been released and the return game at the Stadium of Shite hasn't been selected to be shown on either.

    Sunderland...

whats the biggest seller in the sunderland football club shop??? the Darren Bent tray....it carries 10 mugs.
  22. Having seen both Forster and Krul come through from the academy in the last 5 years and no way would i be putting Forster in the side in front of krul. Tim Krul is the better keeper of the two and always has been.
  23. only the 3rd NUFC player to ever score a hat-trick against the mackems. Surely the slating he gets on here will now be stopping, he's now wrote himself into Geordie folklore.
  24. i think the Longsands are doing the Blaydon races, they were on the local news today cos they have released the single to raise money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, think you can download it from Sunday. Danby might be booked as well but i don't think he is.
  25. tricky one regarding sending him on loan, i think i would only consider sending him to Carlisle or Hartlepool, he's a young lad who's just settling into a new country and city, the club look after him really well with his house virtually on the doorstep of the training ground. While playing on loan regularly would know doubt be beneficial i don't think sending him off to the other end of the country would.
