Must have re-watched that 2nd goal about 10 times now, gets better every time. For once even the commentary for the goal was class too... "was there any doubt, this guy is on fire!"
-
aye cos thats exactly what i was trying to get at it goes without saying this season has been amazing regardless of how points we get in the last 6 or where we finish! this thread is about the race for europe.
-
If I'm honest the only way I can see us finishing in the top 4 is to win probably 5 of the last 6 games. The sad fact is, finishing in the top 4 is not in our hands, even if we won every game we could still only finish 5th. Spurs have a winnable run-in, I'd say tomorrow is their hardest fixture. Not sure what to think about arsenal considering they'd won 6 in a row before the qpr match, but I'm definietly supporting City on sunday!

I don't think colo, tiote and cabaye will play if they are doubts. So we'll probably go with: -------------Krul Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Santon Raylor, Gosling, Jonas HBA, Cisse, Ba We really would struggle if we get more injuries. I don't think this will be an easy game, but I really fancy Ba getting a goal in this one... come on lets keep this winning streak going!
-
haven't they won 3 in a row as well... this wont be easy
-
unlikely with willo and perch playing! hopefully everyones got the message though... "give it to hatem!"
-
Santon for Simpson and I would be happy with that lineup I think we'd all like to see him given a run at RB, but we know its not going to happen this season
-
I'm expecting to see: Krul Simo, Willo, Perch, Jonas Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye HBA, Cisse, Ba Can't see him dropping guthrie, so santon will be on the bench. Just can't see them losing another game after their recent results, so think it will be a draw or defeat if we concede first. A win would be amazing, would really let the dream of a top 4 place continue for a bit longer!
-
Well at least Chelsea and Liverpool lost too. We have to win the next 2 games if we want to stay in European contention - and we should be a different side with Tiote and Cabaye coming back in. Just about everyone had a nightmare today... the midfield especially were all awful.
-
I'm more worried about Tiote being missing, Guthrie has been better in his last 3 games than Cabaye has since he got injured for France. Jesus Christ. Guthrie was worse than Cabaye today, until Cabaye went off he then raised the level of his game. Against Stoke I think they were both equally good, but Cabaye was distributing the ball better. Cabaye is more than twice the player Guthrie is, and if he doesn't play against City we'll have more problems than we already should have. Guthrie was one of our best players today, in fact for me he was the best player on the pitch. He was also better than Cabaye against Stoke and Blackburn according to the people who watched the cup game, in fact I think Cabaye has been below par since he got injured against France so I'm not sure what the problem is with me saying that Tiote will be a bigger miss? Or are you one of these posters with the "If Guthrie starts we will lose" attitudes? Most definitely This

I agree with this, and he'll get better with more match time I am sure. Think he can be a good utility player but looks like he needs to play reserve games for a while to get his confidence and sharpness back.
-
Great result, so pleased for the team to come through that. Everton will feel they should have got something out of it, but we defended so well it would have been harsh. I think it goes to show that against the better teams without a doubt we will need Tiote and Cabaye to be a threat, and hopefully with the break now they will have a chance to make it back for the City game. Jonas looked really tired today, but still got back and defended ok. I think we missed Obertan's runs, Marv didn't really impose himself on the game as we might have hoped. Bit worrying that Ben Arfa still isn't up to speed with things yet, and unfortunately we don't have the type of games we can ease him back into so he is going to have to make better appearances from the bench if he wants to get into the team. 25 points from 11 games, still can't believe it!!

After listening to AP after the game yesterday, I can't see us playing 2 strikers against this lot. Will be either Shola/Best... and if he has confidence in Santon he'll come in a LB with Raylor moving to RM I reckon...
-
This. Sums it up perfectly for me... in truth if we managed 2 draws in the next 2 away games it would be decent enough...
-
Can just see Ashley putting on a dutch voice gives DC a ring... "yes, yes, newcastle have match fulhams offer.... AND are offering him more money than they have" Puts phone down and switches to sky sports news....
-
Would be a bit gutted if both SWP and Bellamy went to QPR... its the one club I wanted relegated this year
-
considering Di Natale is 33 years (34 in October) old that is b*lls1t
-
Nolan is probably gonna be our top scorer this season, crazy.
-
makes the elmander move more likely
-
Elmander cost Bolton £8m, no way he'll come here today for any less than that.
-
I'm sorry guys, if that is what he's broken there is no way he will play again this season. With it being his left leg too, its worst possible case for the lad. Gutted, especially as I think he could have got into the French team too.
-
Man Utd, Arsenal home or away would be ones to avoid... Stoke, Villa, Birmingham and even Wigan away would be ones which could be very tricky. 6/16 are non-premiership though which is good stuff for us!
-
Teams in the draw then are: Northampton Brentford Burnley Ipswich Swansea Leicester Aston Villa Newcastle Man Utd West Brom Birmingham Stoke West Ham Arsenal Wolves Wigan
