  1. My hatred of them goes back to the 80s and the days of Ken Bates, electric fences and Nazi saluting arsehole fans. They've always been a cunty club, for me worse than Sunderland in my personal hatred stakes. I honestly thought they might be done and now 250m spent in one window and still they want more, it's never ever enough for them. Just a horrible club through and through.
  2. From potentially on the brink of folding to a quarter billion spent, I despise these cunts
  3. Definitely was a lot of money, my point was more why weren't the "super powers" interested because Man City in 2011 were not anywhere really close to that, money aside. It was an incredible signing, regardless of what he actually cost. A bit like us getting Nunez ahead of Liverpool currently really.
  4. So much for their "Welcome to West Ham" videos
  5. Aguero, looking back, was an utterly outrageous signing by them. Recognized as potentially one of the world's best and I think he only cost around 38m then which is a lot, but a relative bargain really. How others weren't really in for him and allowed City to get him relatively easily, I still puzzle over because City weren't that established yet beyond their money.
  6. Just watched the YT video "Welcome to Newcastle". Fast, smooth, skilful, great acceleration, scored goals from all angles and lots of different types of finishes. Only 22. Aye, 15m
  7. I was just home in July for a visit and got chatting with my cousin who is a legal secretary for a local firm specializing in property. The firm did some recent work brokering a property sale in Darras Hall for...one Bruno Guimaraes. Apparently, there was a big to-do with the seller over him being a bit of a berk and refusing to budge on a fridge freezer being part of the deal Doesn't really answer your question, just made me think of that.

  10. My thoughts exactly mate as I rise on the east coast and casually glance at the forum, ready to peruse the latest "this journalist is better than this journalist" patter
  11. I'm just gonna go through this thread and like every post, even Froggy's, because this is the best news to wake up to and I love everyone right now
  12. no way? This is actually happening??
  13. I know a couple have expressed the sentiment this morning "even if they lost 4-3, still would have been proud" etc but as much as I get that and as a fan, kind of agree, I think it was so so crucial for player confidence that they didn't lose. Drawing that game was huge for these players, even after being 3-1 up. Confidence is such a massive part of the psychology of the modern game, they'd have been on the floor today had they lost. Now hopefully, they'll be on a high all week. After the likely top 3 of City, Liverpool and Spurs, this league is wide open.
  14. Couldn't hurt having YAR there today and him seeing what could be
  15. Need a lie down after that. It's great to care again but no good for the ticker
  16. I just lightly banged my head against my desk Basil Fawlty-style to make sure I wasn't dreaming any of this
  17. Leeds still have Sinisterra to come back as well, very highly rated
  18. Love a good Chelsea howking, hope they lose heavily
  19. the kid from Grange Hill scores
  20. Hard to imagine EH cavorting down the sidelines like a twat after a goal, can't stand that Marsch bloke
  21. They've lacked consistency at times for sure but I like what Vieira is doing there, they're punching well above their weight and more power to them. Gave Liverpool all they could handle and spanked Villa today with ease.
  22. Brain fart, thought they played Everton at home second game. You're right about Palace though, they made that looks easy and Palace have been excellent since
  23. Pretty gentle start for them fixture-wise but their transfer business looks about perfect so far
