  1. I'm sure QPR are looking to make a big statement of intent, so Barton can probably ask for whatever he wants and will likely get it. Annoys the piss out of me that a crappy little club like QPR with about 12k fans (inflated to 20k for the premier league) now have an owner come in ready to spend whatever it takes. We have 50k most weeks and a hard core of about 35-40k and we get the one billonaire who wants to spend whatever he finds down the back of his couch. We won't even spend what we bring in apparently...wasn't that the whole remit? no capital outlay, we can only spend what we generate? where's our f***ing left back and striker you cheap tw@ts???
  2. No doubt he's as good as gone, QPR will offer him a huge contract and that will be that. Ya know, the mongs running this club could have avoided all or most of the bad taste from selling Enrique and kicking Barton out by just having the foresight to have their replacements in the bag first. If we signed Pieters and then sold Enrique and signed (for arguments sake) Barnetta prior to letting Barton go, most would be willing to just move on. They do everything backwards, sell or give away players and worry (if they even worry at all) later about replacing them. Just the wrong way to do business. Not that they give the slightest toss about what the fans want or think
  3. Not this again...do people think Enrique and Carroll played for feckin buttons like? THEIR wages should be their REPLACEMENT'S wages ffs, we shouldn't have to push other players out the door to allow a left back and a striker in man.
  4. I wouldn't be worried if he did, he's been distinctly average for quite a few games now and his free kicks are crap. Do you think that maybe part of the reason he's been arguably below par (not sure I agree but it's certainly debatable) is because of the way this club's idiot hierarchy have treated him? That perhaps morale is more of a problem than the ability which he showed for large parts of last year? I don't know, was morale a problem for his first 3 years here? What most people seem to forget is that he's been here for 4 years and been good for about half a season. I think he can be a good player when he's really fired up, he can also do idiotic things. Like I said I'd prefer to keep him as a squad player, but he's not a player I'd be gutted to see go. I'd still be disappointed if he did go and we didn't replace him though. I personally think he is a big part of why we have 4 points on the board already. He has worth beyond his "free kicks", he's a leader on the pitch whatever anyone thinks of his behavior past and present and a lot of the players in our team respond to him. That he has done stupid things in the past and not provided value commensurate to what we paid for him in fees and wages is obvious. That he today is worth a lot more than being pushed out the door to bloody QPR is also obvious IMHO.
  5. Don't like this any way it's spun but i'd have a heck of lot less of a problem with it if we had a reasonable replacement in the bag. As per usual, that is beyond the nitwits running us. Seven days left and another player gone.

  7. Anyone who thinks we won't miss this player on the pitch AND in the dressing room is off his/her rocker. The fact we're giving him away is beyond belief but actually the least of the problems with this. I wonder where our wage bill will be after Barton's gone? Probably if not for Smith and Colo (who will be the next big name sold no doubt), in the bottom six of the league. Which is where we're going to end up if we keep chucking players out and not replacing them properly. If he leaves this window, we're a left back, striker AND a good midfielder down, 7 days to replace all 3
  8. Yep...therein lies the problem...
  9. Us at Spurs in the FA Cup in 87 was supposed to be very similar. 12000 went down for that and were shoehorned in by all accounts, with some fans having to escape by climbing to the top tier. Am sure there are some fellow old-timers on here who may well have been there (I listened in on Metro) Yep was at that game. Time has dimmed the memory but recall standing on the side of one of the pens behind the goal for most of the game. Some barriers actually broke at the hinges and came away under the strain. Recall the Met weren't too keen to allow those getting crushed at the front out and into the section to the extreme right which was next to their fans. Was closed for segregation, in the end they had to open the gates at the front and allow a fair few into that section. Much gentle banter insued. I was 16 and terrified for the first 40 or so minutes until I was able to get across and up onto the side. Easily could have been close to or as bad as Hillsborough. Feckin coppas in those days down there were real bastards. Got a right chasing outside as well, perfect day really. i was on the fence to that segregation section they opened, watching seat parts flying down from the shelf Lets not forget the flying bottles...was ridiculous, like a war

Also recall arriving at Kings Cross after the game in staggered fashion due to the mayhem and confusion outside. Around 100 or so Man Utd fans were on the other side of the platform, think they played Chelsea in the league that day. Good thing the train arrived within a few minutes as our little group of 20-30 or so Mags could have had another big problem if their staring at us was anything to go by.
  11. Yep, the way he almost saved that Scunthorpe equalizer, thought it was Billy the Fish for a minute
  12. Cole is such a an odious little prick...he's got a face I would never get tired of kicking.
  13. One con job after another with this lot...nobody is asking us to spend beyond what we've brought in, just bring in the absolute necessary players at this point which means a left back and a number 9. That's without going into our CB situation which teeters on disastrous with an injury to 1 player.

    Alan Pardew

With all the diligence (or lack thereof more like) being applied here, Raylor will be our LB for the season at this rate.
  15. Do the people who make decisions at the club ever look beyond the next 5 minutes? I mean what did they expect? Clubs to just bend over and sell us players when they don't need to? "Mike, you sure you want to sell Enrique for half what he's worth without a replacement in the bag first?" "Sure, we'll just make an offer of whatever we get for Enrique and a club will happily give us their left back. Right? I mean that's what we did for Liverpool, won't someone do that for us?" "Er, not sure it works that way Mike" "Whatever, sell Enrique anyway, we'll worry about it later" We do our transfer business completely the wrong way around, letting clubs cherry-pick our best players and worrying about replacements much later. It's going to catch up with us eventually man.
  16. Err...no. You can't use that. I've given an opinion on the transfer. You didn't. You just whinged at other supporters. Can't use the hypocrite/allowed my opinion. I posted my opinon earlier, only then did I whinge
  17. But that wasn't your post. Your post was just a go at others. That's the only thing I'm arguing against. Funnily enough...no, I haven't I think your sarcasm-ometer is broken squire Err..I was laughing at it Does that not mean I got it? I think calling out someone who just needed an excuse to whinge at other supporters has led down the wrong road here. f*** me...sorry lion...continue to whinge at the fans and not the real reason of your anger. It's f***ing ridiculous we're in the position we're in...but I've never been in denial about how every f***ing window and every MA season turns out. That's more real world than some who honestly expected Laurel and Hardy to go transfer happy. Arrgh Christ, now you've apologised, I have to feel bad for having a go back...must be the pre-derby tension i'm feeling. I wasn't seriously trying to have a go at our own fans, just frustrated man
  18. Yep - I've never been as disheartened as a NUFC fan. Terrible feeling tbh. I can think of far worse times. You sound like a bigger spin merchant than your favourite whipping boy Parnocchio. Stop talking bollocks you f***ing Geordie spiv you're right there, 85-89 was probably a much worse time, selling the local lads. For some reason, back then although it hurt, the youthful optimism and knowledge that we were never supposed to win anything anyway dulled the pain. The difference now is with some sensible investment, we could compete and make a decent fist of going for a top 6 spot...we just won't invest properly and I can't summon the optimism to believe we will, there's just no track record of it under these owners. Hope i'm proved wrong ultimately.
  19. Can't deny that. He most certainly is and has been for many seasons. It's sad times. However...this signing has pushed people into ridiculous mode. Overreactiontastic. But when someone posts their thoughts in the thread and it's just a blast at possible opinions of others ...well...you've got to wonder what's the motivation/point. Then they'd be ignorant Just because I'm not crying over this doesn't mean I'm naive. f*** me...we've signed a keeper. So f***ing what. Where's the evidence its effected the possibility of other signings? These signings in the other threads that are based 100% on random websites. It's funny as f*** but I'm allowed to call out someone who is just motivated to have a dig at others. Again...I say... http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sZCMHC4TbRc/SpmCLutcvTI/AAAAAAAAApI/rAzdyvfz56g/CryingKai%5B3%5D.gif F***ing hypocrite
  20. Aye...let's all slag off our fellow supporters who dare to stay as optimistic as possible in shitty times, instead. That'll make us far more cool. Let's all be as miserable and negative as can be Touched a nerve there, did I POOT? No Just pointing out Lion's miserable condescending bollocks about fellow supporters. You just got caught in the quote crossfire Let's just say whether i'm miserable (sometimes) and condescending (never) or just living in the real world (most of the time), i've had enough of the thick kunts running our club into the ground and planks like you telling me basically I shouldn't have this opinion because it differs from your own.
  21. Great story, after reading that I feel aal soothed like.
  22. Only Newcastle would do this. Sell their only LB, without a replacement in the bag, and then despite having cash coming out of their f***ing ears, wait a week...and buy a league one goalkeeper. Not another club in the professional football world is this poorly run man.
  23. It's like being in the Matrix, there's a real world and a pink candy floss world where everything is going to be ok, we're being prudent and sensible and we'll suddenly spend cash on players we really need without fuss in the 14 days that are left of the window...the previous 8 months of failing to adequately plan? pah! everything is going to be fine man. I think I need to take the blue pill for a while because it sure beats reality.
  24. i'm gonna wake up in a minute and it'll all be a stupid dream. This cannot be reality man.
