Wish we were in for some of the CB's moving clubs this summer. Caulker would have been decent. Our CB's (especially when MYM leaves) are to put it bluntly, terrible. We're going to concede buckets of goals this season, especially from corners. Need central defensive reinforcements badly.

The difference is, Everton don't actively tout their own players in the press, which would weaken their bargaining position, like we do.

I must be biased too because the fouls that were called against us didn't balance with the exact same stuff man united were getting away with. Especially that foul by Nani on Anita, that was absolutely filthy, studs on the ankle area. Then the cunt had the nerve to drag Vurn to his feet as if to say it wasn't a foul. the commentators were saying it didn't look much, then on the slow motion, you could see clearly it was a nasty foul and they didn't say anything about it. Easily a yellow and arguably a red.

Nani is a truly wretched player, how he gets in ahead of any of their other wide players

Just noticed HBA giving Tayls rabbit ears, what a japester

Kilgallon for me like.

"I would rather have Nasri as a striker than him". Just one of the classics from that page. They really are a joke that lot, doubt they'd be happy unless Messi was up top for them on 800 grand a week. I watched the game with Fulham, empty spaces everywhere and when the first goal was scored, the noise level sounded like there were about 6000 fans there. Pathetic club, bunch of charvs that won the lottery. Wish they were 2 divisions below still.

The Balotelli praise in here surprises me. It's all about opinions but fuck me, this lad is not worth the trouble he brings with him. For huge parts of last year he was utterly useless, I would watch him and marvel at his lack of effort and end product. Then the baggage off the field, the blokes a headcase at the best of times. He's been better this year but then it wouldn't have taken much. Sorry but i'd have Dzeko over him any day of the week. Plus he's a sneaky dirty bugger as well.

i don't mind him getting caught offside when playing on the shoulder but in the 2nd half Obertan was running at 3 defenders while breaking and Cisse was constantly ahead of him offside and therefore Obertan had no one to give it to. Fair comment but early days, can't do much better on your debut as a striker than crash the winning goal into the top corner of the Gallowgate end. That plus he's likely used to playing with quicker witted players than Obertan who release an earlier ball. I've never seen a player take so long to make a decision. Don't get me wrong, Obertan played alright today but he takes a bloody age to decide what to do with the ball. That doesn't help forwards who play on the edge of offside all game.

Considering the lad touched down in our city on Thursday, and has barely trained with his new teammates, he did alright like! Great goal, amazing start for the lad. Pressure immediately off. Looks like a taller Cole, the way he runs up right and plays on the shoulder of the last defender. Will get caught offside plenty but will score a lot too. Really exciting front two for the first time in a long time, can't wait to see him once he has really settled and trained properly. Looks like a brilliant signing to me.

Obviously never saw Paul Sweeney in action -
I'm in central Connecticut. Lived here for 13 years now. Hoping to get back home this autumn. Haven't yet gone to NYC to watch a game, anyone else in CT?

Brilliant business by the club, hats off to all involved...and all for 3-5m less (depending on which report you read) than Connor Whickham ffs

I still think that the game in 85-86 when we beat you 5-1 at ours was one of the best performances I have ever seen. We could have scored 20. Have the distinct feeling you had George Reilly up front /askyourdad. Really young Gazza on the bench too. Actually had Hughton and Roeder on the pitch too! I recently posted a video of the "highlights" of that game on my youtube page. That Spurs team was pretty damn good. The late Alan Davies got our goal. Enjoy (and for virtually everyone else on here, don't).

How long until the "Erdinc back on Toon radar" stories start? -
It's not a new phenomenon, just more noticeable nowadays since there are cameras at every game. Recall reading an article a few years ago that included an interview with an ex-player who admitted it was absolutely common-place. He said players would go out of their way to try and be suspended for Christmas games, for example, so they could be with their families instead of traveling to games and so they'd go out of their way to get booked to allow this to happen.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Still find it hard to believe he plays for us. A thinker and a doer, gets up and down the pitch, tackles, passes and shoots well. Bargain of the summer, how on earth we got him, much less for a bargain fee is amazing. -

How on earth have we only conceded 1 goal this season? fuck me... -
Absolutely. we could perhaps have gotten away with or papered over the cracks in this squad in the back 4 positions, but the failure to sign a striker, even a decent one on loan for God's sake, is utterly indefensible. I give it a 3/10 personally.

Knew it was too good to be true, amateurish cunts

what a fucking farce this day is, they have no bastard intention of laying out dosh on a striker, happy to "go with what we've got". Kunts.
