Colocinni seems to have played most of his time with us with at least two footballers who struggle in possession sharing the back positions. Dummet and Williamson at the moment being the two that cannot create from the back. It must be a massive burden for a player like Colocinni when you have to try and do it alone. I thought he was excellent today.

While he is entitled to whinge about his players being sold, Stuart Pearce is yet another who gets top jobs because he was a canny player but is useless with the very different skill set of management IMO.

Completely and utterly depressing the way this supremely gifted talent has been squandered by the oaf we have as a manager. The likes of Keegan would have had him filled with such confidence and belief that he would have been an ever present in the side.

He was the best player on the pitch by a mile yesterday. However the ability to get away from opposition defenders and carry the ball forward in any sort of incisive thrust into opposing territory will risk losing possession and will not be tolerated by Pardew. Until he reverts to his old way of turning round and passing it back or sideways to where the mass of our defensive formation is he will have no chance of starting a game.

I had to stop the car to puke yesterday when Cameron came on the radio praising himself, Beckham and the royal prince while criticising the nasty foreigners for giving the 2022 world cup to someone else. Yes there is plenty of money and resources in English football, it is all concentrated at the top in foreign players and agents pockets. If you are one of the thousands of volunteers who run football in this country at grassroots level, You will know that there is no money for you other than what you can fund raise and the local county FA will only have contact with you to take much of what little money you can raise off you in charges, fees and fines etc. Meanwhile there are less facilities and fewer kids taking up the game than ever before. Football perfectly mirrors the rest of society in this country. All the gain at the top of the pyramid, all the pain at the bottom. The FIFA delegates chose another country because they could probably see our structure for what it is, a rotten structure benefiting the few. A bid led by the privileged elite of an Old Etonian prime minister, the Royal prince and brand Beckham were not surprisingly blind to it.

For a bit of balance I can remember standing in the Anfield Road end when we beat them 1-0 in the League cup (Steve Watson) on a night game, that was fun. I can remember Mirandhina scoring the winner in front of the Kop when we won 2-1 and he almost ran into it kissing the badge, That was a laugh.
