Frank Lampard.. 2nd best player in the world? He's not even the 2nd best central midfielder at Chelsea.
-
Given 6 - Nothing to do. Taylor 6 Bramble 7 - Solid again. Onyewu 5 - Bramble-esque. Solano 6 Milner 5 - Incredibly wasteful. Parker 6 Butt 7 - Best of a mediocre bunch. N'Zogbia 6 - Decent comeback, didn't look as confident on the ball as he normally does, though. Dyer 6 - Involved in most of our attacks, tirelessly ran down every ball. Martins 5 - Displayed a poor first touch & lack of composure today.

That's the title race over, would have loved to have seen Mourinho's face when that one went in.
-
Who? Bellamy? Carragher & Ferguson arguing in the tunnel at half-time. I think it's be quite entertaining so far, can see it ending 2-1 Man Utd.
-
Apology accepted, just don't do it again.
-
It never fails to amuse me the amount people who feel the need to let everybody else know that they don't care about something.

Next season i'd love to see Butt & Emre sitting in the middle with Dyer, N'Zogbia, Martins & Owen going forward. All interchanging roles and switching sides throughout, that quartet would be enough to terrorize any defence. It would be extremely harsh on Milner, and Roeder is probaly incapable of dropping Parker & Duff, but it'd be our most effective attack.
-
Really? Given Taylor Bramble Onyewu Carr Solano Parker Butt Duff Martins Dyer We can expect that, then

So, if the FA Cup Final is contested between two teams in the top 6, does 7th place become an automatic Uefa Cup spot? And then 8th for the intertoto?

Can't imagine why anyone would think Zog is our best midfielder right now. He's had one good season and has potential but that's it. I WAS referrign to the Zog, yes. He may not have reached his full potential yet, but he has still shown that he has more than any of the others. For me, anyway. He 'potentially' has more than the others. Last season he was good, this season he's been shite. If that qualifies him as our best midfielder we are in more trouble than I thought. Who do you think is our best midfielder, out of interest?
-
Good point. I'm not sure Watford, Plymouth, Middlesbrough, Man City or Blackburn will even get close to Man Utd or Chelsea in a major final, though. There wasn't a great deal between West Ham and Liverpool all season last year.
-
So, unless Chelsea & Man Utd avoid each other yet again in the semis draw, the final will be a non-event.

Very entertaining game at the Madejski. Reading really should have taken it to extra time, I was very impressed with Little and Shorey in the second half. Still unsure why Coppell thinks the league is a priority, it would be disasterous for Reading to get European football at this stage.
-
The only instance i'd play him is if by some miracle we make the last 4 of the Uefa Cup, otherwise it's really not worth the risk.

Given Solano Taylor Onyewu Edgar Milner Butt Dyer N'Zogbia Martins Duff

Name me 10 Premiership squads you'd swap for ours then, honestly... I know the squad has major flaws, but i'm struggling to think of more than 6 i would prefer.
-
I'd say we have an above average squad and a below average manager, which amounts to the same league position, but explains the frustration.
-
Why do you think that? Obviously Roeder has proven it over his career, but considering this is Keane's first season... i think he's been very impressive. Because thats EXACTLY what he's proven himself to be so far. What do you think he has proven himself to be, a decent Premiership manager? Because that wpuld be mad, that. Mad. I don't think he has, but he's definetly shown the potential to be 'decent' Premiership at least. He could not have done much more at this stage, could he? Have to disagree with that. He hasn't proven the potential to be a decent Premiership anything. He'll have ot be in the Premiership to do that. Management is about decision making, that doesn't get harder in the Premiership. The step up is tactically and he's only going to improve with experience on that front. I'd swap him for Roeder based soley on their 'off field' attributes, anyway.

Well, the time he takes to pick a pass is staggering. How many times in a game does he bring our breaks to a grinding halt? Far more often than Jenas, Dyer, Bowyer or even Ambrose ever did.
-
I can count on one hand the number of central midfielders i've seen with worse distribution and what's this 'decent shot' he has? Has he ever produced anything more than a 'toe punt' from outside the area? To describe him as a 'great individual player' is laughable.
