Nope. I remember when Roeder was linked with him in January and a lot of people said he was rubbish and we shouldn't touch him. He was available for £6 million then as he hadn't signed his new contract ... would have been great value for money. Doesn't quite appear to be enough of a goalscorer (yet!) but he has an abundance of ability and always seems to create goalscoring opportunities. Would have been nice if Glen picked him up, but I imagine he'd of had to wait at least 3 more transfer windows to get him at an inflated rate. ha ha ha ha I'm pretty sure he was dithering as usual which of course meant we missed out on the player ... as usual. I really wish I could have been a fly on the wall during his transfer dealings. I generally wanted him to succeed, but can't for the life of me figure out how he could bollocks so many windows up. Anyhoo, moot point.

First Van Nistalrooy now Henry given up on Alan Shearer Premiership record goal scorer. Alan has only Michael Owen to worry about now. On Henry replacement I think its very likely they will move for Trézéguet from Juve. I wouldn't be losing sleep over it if I were Big Al.

And a defensive midfielder Butt is good for now, but we'll need someone after next season. If Derby are in the shitter come January, a bid for Giles Barnes would be top of my list. As a defensive midfielder? No, I think (granted, I've not seen much) Barnes is good both ways. We don't need an all out DM if our midfield can attack and be decent in the tackle. That's why a quality back line is tops. And a defensive midfielder Butt is good for now, but we'll need someone after next season. I don't think we'll be getting another one with him, Dyer, and Emre in the squad. Dyer is anything but creative and Emre has been a let down, but I think under Sam he can come good.

Well if you call paying more than twice the value of a player a good deal then I suppose it is. oh i see, so Darren Bent who is only 1 of 4 players to hit 30 + goals in two seasons in the league playing for a s**** team is worth 8 million yet players like Nugent and Ashton (when he was at Norwich) with little to no premiership experience were bought for 7 million. Makes sense God it's annoying when you're right.
