I'd hope if Barton did come that Sam could weave his magic like he did with the mad spitter Dioup. Sidwell would have been a nice replacement for Parker. Suppose he'll be up for grabs, after riding the pine at Chelski, the year after next.
-
As long as we can get someone of, at the very least, similar quality or better.
-
Boumsong had some quality games for us and people were singing his praises. Then something snapped and he was suddenly our worst CB. Then cunt get's into the France squad FFS, there has to be some quality there. I agree, though, Ramage is a squad player, nothing more. He'll step in when needed, but shouldn't be starting games for the Toon.
-
Haha.. well, if you just watch comp's of our goals that season, it lessen's the hurt. Our defending was diabolical that match. Cunts. (That better? )
-
Skirge, he did us a favour taking that job. We'd still be stuck with Roeder had the FA got it right.
-
That screamer against Charlton is how I'll chose to remember Parker. Then the lad ran the length of the pitch to our support. Fucking class.
-
Certainly a cool name. Can't beat my man, Razak Pimpong. Vagner Love is good, though. Has the starting 11 been posted yet?
-
Cheers, mate. Forgot about that little tid bit.

I don't, that's the lowest his transfer fee has been mentioned as being though so it makes sense to value it as that until we hear otherwise. Also if I said £8.5 million Vic would go off on one about how it was less. Not knowing the transfer fee is a bit worrysome. Also, we've seen how good Parker can play, with the right manager (Big Sam) he could have improved on his last season. If Parker wanted out, I respect him for keeping out of the press and being a model pro while he was here. Best of luck, Scottie.
-
Baggio, how do you know we got £7mill for Parker?
-
What happened to the clean slate everyone had? If Parker wanted out, that's fine, but I've heard nowt to suggest otherwise. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
-
So, does the fee being undisclosed mean we got screwed or they did? ITK anyone? I'd like to know if we made money off this deal.
-
We don't, this is not a fact. If you want only players that want to player for the toon, then they're not going to be very good, because we're not exactly very appealing at the minute. Regardless of our new found expectations, people see the last 3 years as what they might get. Well, there was a decent finish to 1 of the 3 seasons. Still, we've not lived up to expectations or even the supposed talent level. Flashes of brilliance only make the matter worse. We're left to think, why can't we always play like that? As far as signing players who will only play for the shirt, it's next to impossible. Too many foreign players have seen to that as with ridiculous wages. Nowt that there's anything wrong with it, just the way it is.
-
He'd have been insane to miss out on the WC and I've never faulted him for it/the injury. He was in better shape than Rooney, for fuck sakes, I agree. It was a fluke and anybody could have done the same.
-
Aye, same with the fee being substantially larger than others were offering purely (IMO) so he would be our new 'RECORD SIGNING!'. To be a fly on the wall during those weeks would have been immense. Was it Freddy's brainchild or Soumess? Who played the bigger roll? It was exciting when we signed him, though. God we're (at least I) fickle cunts.
-
I'll never doubt Mickey's professionalism on the pitch. He knows that's where his business is done and has always produced. I just think it's a bit sad that he's got itchy feet when we've been s***, but part of the reason we're s**** is because we missed his goals. No words there, just missing personel. He was introduced as our 'saviour' by FF, the answer to Shearer retiring. Huge f****** mistake.
-
I'm beginging to wish he'd never had signed for us.
-
I don't know what the fuck lil' mickey wants, tbh. Which is what drives me beserk. No where have I said, "I think Mickey wants to go", I said, that he thinks he's bigger than the Toon and he clearly does. Pisses me off, but I've agreed with you and Dave. That's reality, we were shit and even shittier without him. Yes, I'm talking about fair and living up to a contract.
-
Don't want to sell him either, if he wanted to go I'd happily let him though. He's professional enough to always give his all, even if his loyalty is elsewhere. He wants the best for Michael Owen, which includes performing, so to want to get rid for the sheer fact he doesn't big us up (don't see anyone else doing it) is insane. And the fact England drives him is good, fucksake, as it means he'll have to perform. Especially now he's not the golden boy anymore. It's not the fact that he's not bigging us up, it's that he's using our club as a stepping stone and thinks he's bigger than us. Mind, I'll shut the f*** up if he pots 20 for us next season and stays relatively healthy. All he has to say is, "I'm going to be as fit as I can be next year and score as many goals as I can for Newcastle". End f****** Of. If he wants to leave after that, thank's mickey, it's been a slice. Pun intended. No, he doesn't actually. Not in the real world anyway. Very few players have done this, care to share me some of those names? Some players do that, some don't. Some players are always looking for the next step up the ladder, some aren't. If you think we're going to get players that only want to sign and play for the club rather than their pay check, all the time, then you're wishing for a dream. It doesn't happen in today's game. And to be f****** honest, until this takeover, Michael Owen probably was bigger than us. Please don't take that literally, but just consider what I'm getting at. Who they f*** are we, exactly? Said that twice today... We're a f****** s*** arsed team, run for the last 3 years by a pair of 'managers' that resemble imbeciles. Two of which he's had to endure. Everyone's been saying it for every other player, "if I was him, I'd be out of here", but with Owen it's not, by some. People need to recognise we got him here against his true wishes, so f****** live with that and stop your pissing, because half the points made against him are hysterical nonsense. "All he has to say, is..." Nowt. Give me goals Michael, or if you f*** off, give me millions. We win either way. Use his ambitions and desires to get the best out of him. Stop pretending every player should automatically love the club, stop pretending superstar players really should care more about their employers than their wage check. If you lot want us to be at the top, you ARE going to have get used to this. Time to choose, cause the moment is now. I'm not pretending every player should love the club, but he should give us a clue of his direction. If he wants out, fine, he gets his wish. He stays, all the f****** better, we've got a world class player in our starting 11. I agree, there are very few players who play for the shirt or some that do for a period of time, but fall out of favour due to set circumstances. When we're playing to our potential, I have no doubt in my mind more players will love playing for Newcastle. For the record, Micheal Owen isn't bigger than any club. He wasn't bigger than Liverpool (Thought he was and sat on the f****** bench for Real) and he's not bigger than us. We are a big club in my eyes. Not as big as the obvious, but not far behind. Right or wrong, those are my beliefs. And he has given us a clue of his direction, and that is that he might stay. What the hell is "Owen impressed by Big Sam"? An indication he wants out? No, it isn't anything, is it? It says he's still weighing up his options. We deserve an answer, so: A) We can sell him and get on with the rest of our summer dealings. B) Keep him and build our squad accordingly. Is that not fair?

If he wants to leave after that, thank's mickey, it's been a slice. Pun intended. All of that is presumption only, and in any case we knew it before he signed. What's changed? We're doing s*** so he's getting itchy feet. Surprise? He's part of the reason we're shit, that's the fucking surprise. His goals would have been difference makers, fact. If he had played at least 75% of our games and we were still shit, I'd have no qualm's about his itchy feet. I'd offer to scratch them all the way to London or Manchester or Liverpool. Might be difficult if we're taking his chopper, as I think I might bump some instruments used in flight. I'll scratch 'em after a safe landing wherever that may be.

Partly, that injury had a series of knock on effects that wouldn't of happened. The original point made by T27 was GR was in part to blame for the Owen release clause, whereas i'm saying Owen himself is more to blame than GR and is as equal as the daft c*** that put it in in the 1st place. I agree with you on that point, mate. GR is not to blame for being an average manager thrown into an impossible position. He didn't even sign Owen, FFS. The release clause is Soumess/Fred's/Owen's cuntish work. Spot on. So the clause is triggered due to Owen being injured all season and us not having enough upfront to pick up the points to qualify for Europe. So the fuker wants to fuk off at the 1st opportunity. This is why am fuked off with Owen, he's a c***. As much as I love Little Mickey when he's scoring for England and us. He's not bigger than the Toon.

Never said for a minute that it was, that it should have been, or that I expected it to be. I think using the Champion's League in that post was a mistake on my part, though I only used it because TT did. More this tbh... Personally, I don't really blame Roeder for any of this, but it's fair enough in my opinion to say that if Roeder was a better manager, and that if we'd reached a higher position in the league and really looked like a team on the up, then this might have affected Owen's judgement. As it stands however, that's all in the past now as Roeder is gone, and Shepherd looks to be following. We're a different prospect in my eyes, both to existing and potential players. Couldn't agree more with your last paragraph, mate. It's 4 years too late, but at least it's happening.
