  1. love the irritation in that full-stop. Commiserations, American friends!
  2. Probably made this point before but seeing as we're going over old ground here, fuck it; but he was so much more than that purple patch. He was a hugely important part of the Howe pressing machine which came to be our identity, and he had a great relationship with Trippier and especially Bruno. He certainly frustrated a lot and had regressed pretty badly by the time he left, but to say he was rubbish apart from that crazy spell has always been horseshit.
  3. The lack of colon followed by tenuous news and journalist in brackets speaks volumes.
  4. What a bloody disgrace this is. It's not even the same colour. https://www.footyheadlines.com/2025/07/new-brighton-players-get-high-end-nike-dri-fit-adv-kits-but-fans-can-only-buy-lower-quality-replicas.html?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAafxBCOiQx3QViGpRvQv9Rc2g9jnBMW-QV7kztpws0RCXEZEJBAGISXFgYSXUQ_aem_Slqb1TAqZswAc4SOT3-5cA
  5. Was just to write a post saying you never know, Palmeiras are decent. Hadn't realised they'd already beaten them in the middle of the night. Stupid tournament. Can't believe it's facilitating another fucking windfall for that vomit inducing piece of shit club.
  6. At least we all know better than to engage!
  7. Pleased to see Flu in the semis. Hopefully Palmeiras will shit on Chelsea.
  8. Very underrated manufacturer, Joma. Do some class kits. Hamburg one is absolutely awesome too. Really do like the Adidas template this year.
  9. I think DCL is long gone as a target, personally. We'd have signed him by now imo.
  10. Psychological warfare > Our Year 8 German teacher was going through adjectives like funny, happy, sad, etc - and doing hand gestures/actions (on the spot) to aid us with the memorising. For 'intelligent!' he tried to mimic a lightbulb appearing above his head but inadvertently made the action as if he were wanking a knob on his head. You don't recover from that level of self-sabotage.
  11. 'Vlachy D.' What a legend.
  12. RIP. Absolutely shocking and heartbreaking.
  13. God I can't be fucked with Brighton.
  14. Obviously not referring to those bullshit tweets but Dibling is the sort of player I'd expect to see through the door if Elanga doesn't happen. Young, British, relegated club... fits the profile.
  15. Reminder that basically no one other than the teams unaffected by PSR have done anything meaningful yet. Kelleher to Brentford is basically the only other major signing by anyone else, unless any of the latest Brighton regens are going straight into the team.
  16. no thanks. He's good for a 20-word tweet about a transfer and that's it. Transfers are only interesting at the point at which they actually happen; everything else surrounding that topic is just noise drawn out to the nth degree for engagement. Unless he's confirming something through his connections the guy has absolutely nothing interesting to say.
  17. @54 that Ornstein update wasn't recent was it?
  18. Re authentic vs fan, there's two different sets of pictures/angles on each respective web page, so it's difficult to tell the differences clearly, though it lists that the authentic badge is heat applied, whereas the fan version is embroidered. I assume therefore that the authentic one is that silicone stuff. The construction of each one is clearly different. Not sure the fan one has the same sheen as the players'. £120 to get the actual shirt, though. Wew, what a bargain. And only £85 for the head-patting "it's almost like the real one!" version. What a treat. Nice to see a semi-interesting goalie top for a change.
  19. Disgustingly clinical from Kane. Flamengo punished horribly there.

How can we expect to compete with them on the pitch if we're not going to compete in the transfer market, though? It's a nightmare to do, cos it isn't a level playing field, but we've got to do it. On the second bit, if the rumours about Khusanov are to believed, even when we cast the net further, you've still got the PSR-avoiders waiting to swipe.
  21. I think there's a lot of anxiety bred from what's happened in the previous three windows. In reality, getting to July 1 this time without a signing and missing out on the odd target is hardly anything to stress over. Again this assumes Trafford isn't waiting in the wings.
  22. Seems the choice is; move quickly and secure less-coveted targets (worse players), or gamble on 'wasting time' by trying to sign better players. Mind you, when you've got professional gazumpers like Chelsea and Man City lurking around, you wonder if we'd miss out on top targets whether they're in the Premier League or Timbuktu.

Bruno was to upgrade on Shelvey. Botman, Lascelles. Isak, Gayle. Now we're trying to upgrade on significantly better players meaning the pool is a lot smaller, meanwhile our own targets have changed beyond survival/consolidation, again reducing the pool of players who can help achieve our new targets. Then you've got the inflation of prices which has changed even in just the last three years, plus the risks of PSR are far more established and emphasise the need to invest with as much guarantee as possible. = Targeting PL players in the first instance.
