  1. If he's among the best three CMs at a club then they're probably of that ilk, aye.
  2. Honestly think that's a brilliant buy for anyone who intends to make him first choice.
  3. I'm generally optimistic but I dreamt that we lost this 12-1. I was awoken from this torment by my lass telling me I was talking in my sleep. Only the dream Gods know what I was going through.
  4. Grand Old Angry Little Scrotums is an absolute cesspit. Their hatred of us is so bizarre. I hope we batter them every time we play them thanks to that place.
  5. I really like Gordon and didn't see anything of grave concern today, though he had one really bad moment which led to the goal. Think he just needs to put this season behind him and have a bit of a reset over the summer. Hopefully there's no talk of any transfer and he can just work hard on picking himself back up a bit. He had a really strong spell but either side of it he's blown pretty cold. Would probably drop him next week, like.
  6. Disappointing to have lost today but we've put ourselves in an amazing position: win one home game against a mid-table side and CL is ours. We missed some opportunities in consecutive away games to put it to bed, but you take this all season long.
  7. Is Raya the best keeper in the league btw? Absolutely owned that third of the pitch. Great saves as well, particularly the one from Barnes.
  8. Aye, well summarised. Frustrating but thought we played well. Arsenal deserved it for being clinical when we weren't. Big game next week.
  9. I dunno if I've ever fallen head over heels for someone like I did for Hatem. Bruno probably the closest. They're quite comparable as players for me; not really in style but in how - when they arrived - we hadn't seen a player of such quality in years.
  10. I used to be very clear on all the routes in but it feels like there's been about a hundred different permutations this year. Being absolutely certain of a second place finish for weeks has left me fairly non-plussed though.
  11. Palace in the Europa League will be a good test of the theory that Premier League teams are going to dominate that competition by default. A lower/mid-table team with a mixed squad and literally zero European history or pedigree. If they end up in the final then it really is curtains for the rest of Europe at that level.
  12. I love the alternative version which happens in my head where Lascelles marches over and punches his head from his shoulders and it lands somewhere in row J.
  13. That's mad that a third tier team has reached the final again. Assume the gap between Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 is a lot narrower than the England equivalent?
  14. I don't like Palace despite them having some likeable attributes (some good players, manager seems sound, community links), but I love the FA Cup and this is a great moment for the FA Cup. And as others have said, the #scenes are what it's all about. Good stuff all round. It would be nice to think we've gone over a bit of a tipping point now in terms of the so-called 'Big Six's' existence.
  15. So do I, that's why I'm a bit bitter. We didn't combust either, we won. Anyway, other teams winning the cups is an unquestionable good thing for the competitions.
  16. Good for Palace, good for football. Bit jealous, hope it's us next year.
  17. Wor Al is properly tedious on comms like.
  18. Cracking goal. I don't like Palace but we need new names on the trophies, particularly this one.
  19. The list is huge really but ultimately it comes down to it no longer being the TV mega-event it was before football was on our screens all day every day.
  20. It's about time Crystal Palace justified their existence. Hopefully they win and in doing so give the FA Cup a bit of a boost too. Competition feels on its arse these days; a succession of barely interested winners is one of many reasons for that. It being on a PL weekend is another, like.
  21. As a fan of the Europa League I'd prefer a Spurs win. As a Newcastle fan I'd prefer a Man Utd win (they'll never go away whilst Spurs might). As a neutral I want to die.
  22. I was really excited by Dubravka because we so desperately needed a better keeper and he looked mad on YouTube. The squad situation isn't as stark now, but I've definitely got a new appreciation on the gains to be had from a goalie upgrade. So a Spaniard who leaps between the posts like a puma would be pretty sockblowyoffy tbh.
