The summer transfer window was inexcusable in 2006. The January one wasn't particularly impressive, but he obviously had little to no funds and it's always difficult to bring players in during that period. Especially with such little to offer as a club at that moment in time. I think he's a decent enough coach who only falls down during matchdays. But if he has anything about him, he will learn from his mistakes. I'm happy to see him build his own squad, something he hasn't done yet, and see out his contract. We're not going to get relegated with him, and unless something goes depressingly wrong, either sack him then or just don't renew it. Sir Bobby's first two seasons were hardly the most enthralling. Scenario 1: He does nowt in the transfer window and we see ourselves deep in the bottom half of the table next season. He should go. Scenario 2: We're generally just mediocre again. Don't renew his contract at the end of next season. Scenario 3: He might do well in the transfer window, we might do well in the league without having Europe to concentrate on. We'll be glad we held onto him. On the whole, what i'm saying is, give him his two seasons. I don't believe he's totally incompetent.

You've made a good start. He's actually a very decent defender. For a nineteen-year-old. Would still prefer Baines, largely because he would be cheaper and is already more experienced - yet is still only young. I think he'll develop into a cracking wing-back. I'd gladly see us splash out for him. Splashing out nowadays is frowned upon for a lot of us, but that's usually only because it's splashed out on the wrong positions (£5m on another left-winger for crying out loud). Left-back is a position we crucially need to improve, so i'd happily watch us spend a significant amount on altering that.

Oh my fucking God in hell.

Meh towards ongoing Shepherd/Roeder arguments and daft comments. I'm glad Shepher's backing him, a managerial change now is the last thing we need. Roeder has his flaws but he is capable, and i still feel that he is learning. Unlike many, i have faith in him to bring us through this transitional period at the right end of the Premier League table. The transitional period should be over come the end of next season, when he should have his own squad. On the other matter, i would love Sidwell here.

They'll probably photograph pieces from left to right, revealing one stripe each time. I can't wait to see which order it goes in...

Can't disagree with much of that, but all the big club stuff is only what's been enhanced by the media. I bet if you put a poll up on here, posing the question - "How big a club are we?", varying from massive to tiny - the results would probably level out around the middle-of-the-road mark, like this reporter states. Providing that all of those under 15 ( ) weren't permitted to vote. Wonder if he's a Newcastle fan? Sounds like he maybe could be. That was an angry article.

Been my bet since November, tbh. Werder and Sevilla are very strong teams, but i just fancy Benfica. Never write off the Portuguese.

Stop embarrassing yourself. It's comments from people such as you that give the likes of Kingdawson something to keep coming back to, in an attempt to prove us wrong/stupid - when really, he's only doing it to you. Not saying Spurs are definitely going to beat Sevilla, but i'd say they'd give them a very good go. Wouldn't surprise me if they went through. That said, i'd hate to see it happen.

We can't afford it. Neither of us know for sure, but personally i think there probably is. Roeder wouldn't be checking out the likes of Bale, Barnes, Davies if we had no money to spend.
-
I think it's about time we improved our wing-back situation in all fairness. It's about time we actually paid money for someone, and someone good. We've piddled about paying nothing money for shit wing-backs for years. Time to sort it out.

Good to see Hargreaves.

And i won't be too bothered, either. Can do without that all over again. We can go back into Europe when we get good again - pointless wasting energy when we could be doing so much better domestically. We've had three bites at the UEFA Cup in the last four seasons, and failed miserably. Like i say - let us return when we're good enough. I thought we might have been, but everything seems to look a lot clearer when you look back.

Everton and Spurs will probably finish ahead of us.

Aye, even my little sister did the whistling thing - and she ain't got a clue about Newcastle.
-
Aye, he's done. And it's not like he's got lots of years left to all of a sudden turn it around. He should be at his peak now. It's normally downhill after 28/29.
-
Any need? Really? I'm sure i'll pull through.
-
Yes i'm upset about the result but devastated? One of my best friends mates killed themselves yesterday. He is devastated. Puts it into perspective really. btw not picking on you Yorkie, just in general. Hmm. I'm only a kid and have barely had any major life issues to deal with. That's the reality of it, just being completely honest. I haven't. Newcastle United dominates a hefty segment of my life. Only being honest.
-
Certainly have respect for those who are keeping cool. Personally, i can't help but be absolutely devastated. Unfortunately i've not seen it happen, over and over again, as many times as a lot of people on here.

I'm just in tears, tbf. *Not a girl*

Not sure about that. He didn't just stand and watch. He made decisions - they were just absolutely abysmal. But your point is still pretty much effective.
-
What good would it have done coming onto national television, infront of millions of people, and making a fool out of himself by going mad? Which he wouldn't have done anyway.
-
The return of Bramble. Anyone who thought it would last, having watched him go through four-game spells MILLIONS of times, then go shit again - wants shot tbh.
-
Abysmal decision-making this evening. But he's done alright this season.
-
No idea why he's getting the nod over Edgar every game.

Emre's set pieces were awful, as ever. But he was our best player when he came on.
