Have always been fine with the DCL link. He's not a big goalscorer but A, you don't have to be a 1 in 2 striker to be useful and B, the team he plays in are absolute dirt. It's important to have competent backup to Isak, with Osula the wild card who might turn class in an instant, or might happily play third fiddle whilst he develops. If we can be thrifty in upgrading the depth positions, it means we can focus our investment on upgrading first team positions.

No. Very close but the 'fangs' detail is different. Actually tbh I dunno. It might be the same as this season's template. Think it might just be that the panelling under the arms looks a bit cleaner compared to our butchered effort.

who's in the middle?

Yep. When you think of how many clubs have pissed away similar amounts/relative to the era, our recruitment record (of signings actually made...) has been exceptional really. Very few clubs have a hit rate as good as that.

Gordon rages at every fucker whenever he doesn't get the ball in an advanced position. Wouldn't read too much into his body language, he's a selfish player (no bad thing).

I don't think I could handle the routine misspelling of Mbeumo were we to sign him. There's been some rough times on these forums over the past twenty years but thankfully the nadir remains the Huntington/Huntingdon saga circa 2007. Let's not go there again.

Until summer and you realise we are way behind Spurs and Man Utd again… and got to climb that mountain again only this time some of the squad don’t fancy base camp again. Not sure paying supporters would be too thrilled either. Don't get me wrong; I consider the rules to be absolute horseshit and I would obviously be in favour of a system which doesn't so brazenly favour a small number of teams. But whilst they exist I'll bask in the glory of pissing on those beneficiaries from great heights.

I get where @OpenC is coming from. I'd hate for us to become something I've always hated and I really wrestled with that when the takeover first happened and anything seemed possible. If there's one positive side-effect of the PSR rules as they currently are, it's that the dividing line between the cartel and everyone else (including us) is absolutely steadfast, leaving us with only 'beat em' as opposed to 'join em'. Being so far ahead of Spurs and Man Utd despite the structures in place to hold us back is immensely satisfying.

Yep. He was crucial to our general tactical approach as well. We're not the pressing machine that defined that season without him.

Was there any Murphy equivalents in that Keegan team? Ie someone people either didn't like or begrudgingly liked or were otherwise desperate for us to improve on?

I know cult heroes aren't truly measurable but surely he's in with a shout? The Grealish thing revealed that people outside NUFC saw him as a joke but he was anything but. I'd like to believe most fans see his time here more positively than negatively at least.

Adore the little fucker and personally feel he's been so much more than just that purple patch. He's provided some amazing moments across his time here and otherwise made huge contributions to some good, bad and great teams. If he's going back to Atlanta I hope that works well for him and he leaves as a cult hero as far as I'm concerned.

love how much he loves it. He's one in a million.

There is no Robson or Howe without Keegan. I think that's the kicker. It'll always be KK.

I didn't think it was too bad a performance prior to the game being killed, at which point we withdrew a bit and got very lucky to come away with a clean sheet. The first half was competitive but we were always in control and the first goal felt like a case of the elastic band snapping. Wolves defended pretty well but it didn't look sustainable; the only thing preventing a goal was a last ditch block from an extra body or a slightly overhit pass from us. They crowded our man in possession so much that we always seemed to have a man over, meaning a big chance seemed inevitable. I thought we were destined to score and I'd argue that it wasn't so much luck as inevitability that a goal went in off one of their many, many bodies surrounding Isak. Thereafter they were just incredibly generous, the goals were a gift and their lack of clinical play up front spared us from ruing taking the foot off the gas. Bournemouth is a much bigger test. Tempted to say "just don't lose" but three points feels so achievable in every single game now.

They were robbed with that goal, like. Wouldn't have made a difference of course.
-
Get in, another big win. Weird game. They had loads of chances in the final stages but we took our foot off the gas so much. They were a pretty generous opponent all told; allowed us to be sloppy and gifted two goals.
