Absolutely no reason Team A couldn't play their European game on Tuesday, league cup on Friday between them, Premier League game on Monday for Team B, Tuesday or Wednesday for Team A, European game on Thursday for Team B. But to allow a goal clearly scored by the arm would have been a massive call as well. Bournemouth were unlucky that there was VAR to step in and correct their goal, but it's quite obviously hand ball, and there wouldn't have been a goal had he not lead with his arm.
