  1. Anyone who wouldn't have Ritchie on the right wing (where Sissoko played the majority of his games here) instead of Sissoko needs their heads checked IMO.

Well no, I think if he has a decent season and stays fit he'll end up somewhere like Everton next summer and that will suit his talent level. He has a lot to prove though. On ability, he is clearly good enough for Arsenal man. He's had to take a massive step down because no one else is willing to gamble on his fitness. If he somehow stays fit this season he'll be back at Arsenal.

Not sure about the rumours going around wearside yesterday, but those odds were horrible

Bournemouth isn't Wilshere's true level, the lad is a terrific player but his career has been ruined by injuries.

He's a right plonker, like. Posted part of that quote in the other clubs transfers thread, such a typical pundit/ex player thing to say. England would be so much better off if a few players went abroad, IMO it's not good for the national team to have players from just one league, you need players with different philosophies and experiences.

He's Swedish and nee cunt had heard of him over here before last week (most probably still haven't tbf).
  7. Well it's said he didn't fail a medical, it was financial differences that put the deal off, apparently. Isn't that just something both parties agree to say to not ruin the players chances of signing somewhere else?
  8. We only play with one striker though, don't think we could have got much better in as a third choice who will be on the bench most of the time.
  9. Never mind that, where's Big Sam?
  10. Just thought I'd put this in here... I certainly hope he doesn't mean unreal in a good way.
  11. Anyone think he might try a bit of 352 this season? Our squad is quite well suited for it with Mbemba, Lascelles and Dummett/Clark as the CBs, Yedlin and Lazaar as wing backs with a central trio of Hayden, Shelvey and Ritchie and Gayle and Mitrovic up front. Of course it's far more likely that he sticks with the 4231 that he knows, but wouldn't be all that surprised if he gave it a go.
  12. "Good morning... Tiote on the same flight as us on the way from Edinburgh from Istanbul. Was anyone on their way to Galatasaray?"

The fuck have they been doing all summer while not signing M'Vila? He was there on loan last season ffs, how difficult could that one have been to pull off?
  14. Good old fashioned smokescreen. Get everyone's hype levels down to a minimum so we're all just happy with not signing anyone after having sold Sissoko
  15. I'd just rather we kept our best players, tbh. If Mike Ashley pocketing £30m gets you hard, fair play. His overall performance and contribution last season was shite, he vehemently doesn't want to be here, and he's taken a massive strop over not being able to leave which would instantly transfer to the dressing room and onto the pitch. I can't see why anyone would be unhappy about this transfer other than to be pointlessly contrary. He probably would have done a good job had he stayed, but like fuck would I have wanted him in the Premier League next year should we go up this year. We now have until January to assess the squad, see where we need to strengthen to ensure promotion and look at the market and sign someone who will be a starter for us next season as well. It makes a hell of a lot of sense for us to get rid of Sissoko now IMO.
  16. Come on Pulis, stick a £35m bid in you daft fucker.
  17. I assume there's some obligation to loan, otherwise it's utterly puzzling. Why loan your first choice keeper? Probably getting some decent money. Lloris is out for a while and Spurs needed a replacement while he's out without having to spend big on someone that won't be needed after January.
  18. Certainly seems like it. "Moussa replacement", even though he clearly isn't.
  19. Everton would be funnier, but will probably be Spurs. Hopefully they crash out of the Champions League and that will be that for his CL dreams.
  20. Jenas: "It is very important for Jack Wilshere to stay in the Premier League, it is brilliant that he is gong to go to a club and play for the season. It will kick start his career and I think it was the right move to stay in England." Some weapons grade bull shit that. Why is it important for him to stay in the Premier League? Go abroad and maybe learn something new. Had the chance to move to Rome for a year ffs.
  21. Spurs sign Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez on loan
