4-2-3-1, playing the holding role with a player that's very similar to Tiote (from the two games I've seen him play). Could easily see him play in the same role for us with Obertan Ben Arfa Jonas/Marveux - Ba in front of them.
Would love to think that the idea of Loven on the wing was that Pards then said to Ashley, "You see this fucking shit I have to work with? Top 10? You're having a laugh. Come on Michael, don't make me come banging on your door..."
Or something like that.
I imagine the setup at SJP a bit like a Kung Fu film, rooms within rooms. Leon Best knocks down the outer door to Pards' office, then he has to knock down the inner door to Llambias's domain, then the ultimate inner room is Ashley's lair.
That sounds more like Inception than a Kung Fu film
You didn't know that he played against Fiorentina?
Nope.
Supporting the lads by ignoring them :thup.
Don't you know that Colocho hasn't got time to read all posts (or match reports apparently)?
Krul
Simpson Taylor Colo Enrique
Marveux Tiote Cabaye Jonas
Ba Best
Bench: Forster, Williamson, Taylor, Obertan, Barton/Vuckic, Ameobi, Lövenkrands
Unfortunately, I think Shola will get the nod ahead of Best
Could it not just have been moved to Old Trafford or something? Obviously still give people their money back for those who can't/don't want to go, but better to get the game played.
Feel sorry for Krul like, bet he was looking forward to it.
What does that even mean
I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering
The way it reads to me is that they are low on defenders, but €9m is too good to turn down for him. Pieters is not worth €3m these days. Last sentence doesn't make any sense to me, maybe that it should be reinvested straight away (Carroll situation, anyone?)
As if we're paying €8-10m for a left back
EDIT: €5m is mentioned quite a bit later on in that thread. Someone says that that is nowt for a club like Newcastle
Also, Dutch to Swedish really doesn't work well with google translate
http://www.nusport.nl/oranje/2585005/van-persie-en-pieters-missen-training.html
Van Persie and him missed training on Monday, apparently. Pieters has been injured has he not? Though according to that article (no idea how reliable the source is, obviously), he missed training for personal reasons.
Since van Bronkhorst retired, he's been first choice left back for Holland. Probably not as good as Enrique, but probably a better replacement than what most of us have been expecting.
Hadn't heard of Pieters before today, but (if true) it's positive that we're signing a Dutch international to replace Enrique. Obviously, I'd have preferred Enrique to stay, but I've been set on him leaving for months now, Pieters might be a decent replacement.
