The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]
Nobody replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
Sell him on for a big price. Fits the bill perfectly. Who didn't see that coming? Are his claims mental or is he actually a talent that could be playing first team in 2 years? No idea, never heard of him before we signed him. He's been playing in lower leagues here in Sweden. Only started playing football five years ago (at the age of 12), so he's developed very quickly, made appearances for the Swedish U16 team. Think we'll just have to wait and see. -
Agree, good post!

"I hope to be playing in the first team within two years. Then I hope to play for Barcelona, they are my favourite team, and I also hope to play for Sweden." -
It'll be very interesting to see who will have to give way for Martins and Jonas, who surely has to be definite starters when fit. The nominees are: Shola Ameobi - Obvious choice for most of us, he's been pretty much terrible in our last two games, and tbf, most other games he's ever played for us. Scored against the mackems though, and most of thinks JFK likes a target man. Peter Lövenkrands - Man of the Match and scored against WBA for me, but probably wouldn't have started had Carroll not been injured. Deserves to keep his place, and we should remember that Kinnear played Owen and Martins earlier in the season when we were on a good run of games, which proves he doesn't always need a target man. Damien Duff - Scored against WBA and looked lively and confident. Took people on, and got into some good positions. Shouldn't be fooled by this though, he often plays shite after he's had a decent game. A Kinnear bum boy. Ryan Taylor - Assist against WBA, but otherwise had a fairly quiet debut. Does not deserve to be dropped though, could be moved to either left or right full back. Steven Taylor Scored against WBA and won a penalty against the mackems. Has looked much better at full back than centre back. One of the players you might think Kinnear wouldn't drop, but he's done it earlier in the season. José Enrique - Solid defensively against WBA, and not too bad going forward. Had one of his best games for us against the mackems, and will probably benefits from having Jonas in front of him. Does not deserve to be dropped, but is not one of Kinnears favourites. For me, it's Ameobi and Duff that goes, even though it's a bit harsh on Duff as I reckon he had a good game against West Brom.

To me, “There is £8m there and it will be spent in the summer. Mike isn’t afraid to spend money out of his own pocket." doesn't sound like "Our budget is £8m".

Watched the highlights from last nights game on nufctv, the lad looks to have extremely good technique. Hope we get to see him in the first team this season.
-
Highlights of the interview include: :: Derek Llambias apologising to Toon fans and admitting that the board's silence since Kevin Keegan left was wrong. :: A promise to give the fans a voice at the club. :: Predicting that Newcastle will lose millions this year but maintaining "we are not a selling club". :: Revealing that Mike Ashley believes Newcastle can challenge for EVERYTHING within the next five years.

Reckon Cacapa should play against Everton now like.
-
Me neither, unless we get rid of Wise et al. I don't really want him here any way, average at best.
-
Fuck Kinnear and Curbishley, get Scolari in now. Sack Wise and the rest of the recruitment-crew, give Scolari the time and patience he deserves and watch us shoot up the league. If only it was that simple.

Anyone wanting WBA to go down want their heads looking at. 6 points a season! Goes for Spurs as well

Agree It's only been recently that Man U has been in a great run, before that it was very much anyone can beat anyone.

Wehey!

Don't worry, we've got that guy with the cool foreign name lined up

Another player coming out and bemoaning the current regime? Well I never. Know many players that are sold and don't critique those who deemed them surplus to requirements? Shay Given. Wasn't surplus to requirements, was he? I thought Nixon meant name a player who has left a club by not being deemed surplus to requirements but had criticised them. Sorry, he never made it very clear despite his excellent use of the English language. Surprisingly enough. Fair enough
