  1. No, but can't be a patch on Del Piero's for Juve.
  2. It was almost as if the fans (and I include myself in that, even though I wasn't there) were just waiting for the team to fuck up. It was almost inevitable. If we'd taken the lead early on - the Owen one sticks out, obviously - things could have been so, so different. I really think Hull were our worst possible opponents at the time too, as there isn't a team in the league which you have to beat more than them, putting extra pressure on the players and probably made them a bit more nervous.
  3. I'll 2nd that mate. Its just too much now. It needs to end Aye, i'm a Keegan fan and ideally he'd still be in charge, but we need to get the club sold, appoint a manager, and be able to concentrate on football again quickly. Just sick of the whole thing. Me four. Me five.
  4. Far too many are worried about what happened against Hull. We could've won that on another day with some more luck (had Guthrie or Owen put their chances away at 0-0 we would've won, and both could've gone in) and then no one would be talking about relegation. Watch us beat West Ham on Saturday and we'll be back talking about top half again.
  5. Life would definitely be easier without football. One of the lads I work with on Saturdays is not the slightest interested in football, and he just can't understand why I get upset when we lose. He's got a point in that there's no point in letting affect your mood as much as it does, but I can't help it.
  6. Agree regarding Martins. There is something about him that makes us look twice as dangerous when we're on the ball when he's playing as opposed to when he's not. Still though, it's hard to ignore Owen's goals, he's a constant threat and you can count on him to get the goals. I just can't wait til we finally get to see them play together again. It's Martins pace that worries teams. They can't push up and play a high line when he's on the pitch for fear of being caught in behind, which they can with Owen. This gives our entire team more space to play in when in possession. He also unsettles opponents I think, he's so unpredictable that its hard to know what to do with him. Agree about seeing them together, but I don't see a regular 4-4-2 working which is why I'm really hoping we stick with the 4-3-1-2 we had last year. With a focal point for them to play off like Viduka, they're great to have on the pitch at the same time. Think the bit I bolded is more important than his pace, actually, as he doesn't use his pace to run behind defenders enough. I think they could, and would, work in a 4-4-2, but would be even more lethal in the 4-3-1-2, especially if Owen is going to continue to look as quick and sharp as he did against Hull.

  8. Chelsea would do well without Lampard, they are as far from a one-man-team as it gets IMO. They could easily push Ballack up the pitch a bit and play Mikel (even though I don't particularly rate him) and Essien (which is one of the best CMs in the world) behind him and they'd be fine. If we are assuming that the rest of the team is fit, they would still get plenty of goals from Drogba, Cole, Ballack and Anelka while still not conceding much.
  9. Good news, even though I think he might have deserved a harsher punishment.
  10. French version of this: http://images.tvrage.net/shows/6/5623.jpg
  11. No 5 is bollocks too. Why? If a player is fouled and has to have treatment, why should he have to leave the pitch when the fouler stays on it? Should be the other way around, IMO. If a player needs treatment, then he can't come back on the pitch straight away. The way you want it would just lead to even more laying around feigning injuries.
  12. Ridiculous for so many reasons I won't even start to think of them.
  13. Would love it if Bill Gates bought us, tbh Any one of the two mega rich Ambani-brothers would do too
  14. Ashley Young once again proves why he should be in the England squad, probably even the first XI.
  15. Well, Fagan was acting like a dick all game, and the dick is never far from the balls.

    Michael Owen

Have Barton batter the fuck out of him on the last training session if he doesn't sign a new contract

    Michael Owen

Best overall performance from Owen in a long time on Saturday. He looked quick, sharp and really up for it. Unlucky not to score on that header, fantastic save from their goalkeeper. We really need to keep hold of him.
