Tiote is a defensive midfielder, Sissoko is not, it would be a real waste of his talents to play him as one too. Anita can play all over the midfield, but he's shone as a defensive midfielder above all else. I do not particularly see Anita as a player who breaks up play and wins the battle. Sissoko has the physical presence to do that even if he isn't deployed in a ancorman role. Anita on the other hand is the most modern midfielder we have. His passing and movement is/will be vital for our game if we actually adapt a 4-3-3 permanentley. The way in which he links defence to midfield is such a vital part of building play, I reckon he will revel with Yanga-Mbiwa/Coloccini in behind him. We could probably sacrifice Tioté who's more one-dimensional than any of the other CM's.

Has to start for me, will be great with Cabaye in the side. Does not compete with Tioté for me, that would be Sissoko. Anita has completley different qualities from both of those.

Depends what you class as identity but for me we're quickly losing it. Team full of foreigners, a spiv of a manager/chief exec/owner, the desecration & re-branding of the ground only for it to fall fat on it's face. It's the way modern football in the Premier League is, money over all else. It's a shame. Identity as in what defines Newcastle United for us. I'm with you, but maybe it's a conservative and romantic perspective. Maybe it's a reluctance to accept the changing dynamics of the game and what it brings? It erases certain aspects that I have greatly appreciated, but I also feel there might be new elements to appreciate that we're not able to comprehend yet.

As I'm not from the area, I do not relate to or feel the consequences in the same way as those of you who are actually Geordies. But is there no loss of identity at risk here? The club does not have a history of being made out of purely non-English players - which is the core issure rather than a team full of Geordies. I know we live in a globalized society where local anchoring has less significance, but that element still needs considering. I think big sets of supporters will struggle to identify themselves with the club when there are suddenly next to no English/British players in there? Steven Taylor will be there, but with Danny Simpson leaving - I can't see anyone but Sammy, Shola, Adam Campbell and/or Remie Streete figuring in the first team for the next years. I think our business model and decision to outsource talent is a reaction to the current economic climate - to compete we actually have to do this. The question for me is this: Are we re-shaping the identity of the club or just losing it?

If Sissoko signs there's no way in hell we will play 4-4-2..... Anita, Tiote and Marveaux all on the bench? yh that will happen.... Good evening have we met ? I would agree but we haven't used 4-4-2 in months, the last time i remember us going 4-4-2 was the Southampton game. Pretty certain it won't happen, for better or worse. Don't think Pardew sees the benefit of 4-2-3-1/4-3-3. He plays Shola and Jonas on the wings.
