Squad overhauls are exceptionally rare. I never understand why people expect them to happen. A bit like player swap deals.

Why?

The most damning thing for me is how I approached that game yesterday. I ignored it. I haven’t missed a game since the take over, Eddie’s my favourite NUFC manager, I absolutely love him. What I saw against Crystal Palace made me so sure we weren’t turning up yesterday that I didn’t bother. That’s not an acceptable state of affairs no matter the context.

Crystal Palace game was a huge tell IMO. If there was life left in this team we might have mustered something resembling a performances in that game. In terms of the score, we lost that game late, but were utterly dreadful from start to finish. No urgency, no ability to break them down, and we were playing a team who conceded the initiative before kick off.

I can’t defend this. Was hopeful that we would look more like Eddie’s mags once we had one game a week. That CP away performance rattled me massively, we were fucking dreadful. I didn’t bother watching today as it felt like an absolutely nailed on loss and I didn’t want to give them the opportunity to ruin my weekend. First game I’ve missed since the take over. I’m now fully expecting he’ll go at the end of the season. Feels shite, my favourite ever NUFC manager, absolute legend. This is really, really bad though and I don’t expect he recovers now.

Can, but likely won’t as we’d be very likely to run into issues the next time we qualify.

Yeah. I’ve got more time for him than some, I think, but I expect this is how it will go. Looking forward to seeing him attempt to shoot and fall over without making contact wearing a different club’s colours. My primary issue with this is that it basically leave us with Barnes as our only effective attacking player.
